We are Living Ghosts
Our husbands (or wives) are gone and we are left in the living world feeling like a shadow. We rattle around familiar, lonley places wrestling with anguish hoping to find some solace in daily routines. Our desperate hearts are ever reliving memories of the past. We wonder why our families and friends can't see us clearly. They can't see how we grope to hold onto the flesh that was once ours or how we hurt as much as we did that first day when we were seperated from life. When they are brave enough they stop and come near and listen to our wailing often meeting us with looks of disbelief, horror, or pity. Some never darken the door again for fear of haunted places.
