I got the worst haircut tonight..I really wanted to look
good for going home to LA for Christmas - the guy
who cut my hair was absolutely bizarre. He botched my beard trim too.
Uggh! haha!
Anyways
as I drove away I realized I didn't really research
the hairdresser so well. Lesson learned. Impulse buying
is rarely lucky - I've been spending my money like a fool
lately - and because I am not working I really need to save
as much as possible. Not only for immediate expenses but also
for my future. I know you can't take it with you but to not have
money when I'm a feeble old dude in order to pay folks to take care
of me and feed me jello and ice chips - that would be the worst!
As I drove home tonight I thought about all of us - how you we're
present for each other here - encouraging
each other to survive, to surmount the issues that plague us,
to keep on keeping on. It may be a risk to say - because I know
folks can take offense at blanket statements, but I feel like we are
a really good group of friends. A tribe. I saw outside of my family relationships
and tonight as I drove home, I felt lucky to be able to come back here tonight
and chat. I've been on this site for almost 13 years now (i think since 2012)
and the investment of time and personal commitment has been life saving.

hmmmmm. . . during my unstable childhood, the family often referred to itself as, "a country gypsy tribe." with 2 parents, 11 children and various hangers-on, townies often called us that, as well. there were an astounding number of town children hoping to be stolen by the gypsies. sorry, my child, no seating available. you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.
during my early therapy years i often quipped that i was unlearning tribal behavior. it is far easier to learn than unlearn, so those works are still in progress.

Once I asked for layers shaping the face and it was a mullet.
No he just did weird things with my sideburns and beard. I wanted natural but not shaggy, he gave me stylized manscaping. Lol
