Water Park Fun
Yesterday was one of those days………….I am beginning to have more and more trouble dealing with J. She acts one way, says one thing, does something else and remembers a different version! Yesterday J, my aunt and all four second cousins went to a water park here in SA. I was trying not to crowd Roy too much but after a while I could see he really wanted me and I tried to watch myself with my Aunt and J. They never said anything really and we all had a very good time. Roy has an awful fear of heights and the sudden stop at the bottom, although he loves to swim. I too fear the bottom because if I go under I panic and inhale water. He really made progress though. After talking with him he wanted to try the one slide, which is about five stories up in air. Well we got to the first landing and I knew it wasn’t going to work, so we left the tubes I got him to climb to the top and see the people ride the ride down and that it really isn’t all that bad. I got him down and latter he climbed up again, with no trouble. Then we tried a higher one latter on, he did fantastic, still not up to riding them. However I am real proud of him, he has a major fear of heights and did an awesome job, he may yet go down of the rides this summer-who knows. Aaron invited his girl out and stayed with her and her family most of the day. All in all a very good day. Evening came and I worked it out so I would have my car there, J knew that I would be willing to stay till close, but did not want the boys to stay. Then out of the blue she said if they it was alright with my Aunt that they stay at her house that night, (so the step dad would not know about me) that it would be okay! So the boys and I stayed till the park closed! I did have trouble with Roy zoning out after the rest of the family left. I do not know if it is me, or he just lets downs his defenses when they are not around. I now see what the church sees, but how do we handle it when J won’t get him any help? We were able to leave five minutes early, and it only took twenty minutes to drive back to where we had to go. Once closer to home I called and got the okay to take them to dinner, saying we just left the park. I know not a good idea to lie. So we had Chick Fila last night. Yum. Then stopped by Wal Mart and made it home in plenty of time. Roy had some trouble going to bed and Aaron did not want to take a shower and Aunt backed him up! Everyone went to bed but Roy was upset saying he way bored. Finally I just left him for a few minutes, then went back and sat with him till he settled down. Then I got him in bed and stayed with me for a little while till he got drowsy, I just kept telling him to think about the good parts or life. Yes I hated coming home, I was damn happy out there yesterday. No I did not want to come back and face my own troubles, but we got a break and need to hold on to the good memories. I kept trying to get him to picture floating on the lazy river, the tube moving up and down and the calmness of the waves. It finally worked. Then this morning I got ready a few minutes early and woke him up at 6:30 to tell him I would be leaving in a minute, did he want to sit with me for a few minutes. We did until my Uncle got up, Aunt was already gone. As I was finishing getting ready, he hollered and I walked in and he had his arms out stretched wanting a hug. I wanted to stay home sooooooooooo bad today, but knew I couldn’t, I have work and don’t want the family getting the wrong idea. Last night was a huge step forward. I am happy for it. I praise God for his continued presence in this mess.DJ
