wants his daughter

Biodad calls me freaking out yesterday evening. He said he was “coming to get his daughter”. He had heard biomom had been cheating and he didn’t want his daughter around any of the freaks she hangs out with. As calmly as I could, I told him that’s why gd is with me, not with her mother. I told him gd is doing well, has a schedule, stability, daycare provider she knows and trusts. Daycare is 125 a week. He would need shot records to move her. He would just upset her with the move from people she knows. My gs goes to her daycare twice a week, they are together. He kept saying I know all that but I’m coming to get my daughter. I finally told him since he doesn’t have custody, if he does come get her, that her mother would just get police and get her back. Then she would take her to her friends house, and there baby would be, is that what he wants? She is safer here with me, not with her mom gone wild. This way he gets visitation, his parents get visitation, the baby is well taken care of.He finally saw reason and calmed down. He said he would call me today, and arrange visitation for Saturday. He said he will bring her back Saturday night.  My hands were shaking during this conversation. I talked slow and steady while he went off about her. I guess I am in it now. I tried not to get attached; I tried not to get involved. She’s lived with me for 4 out of 6 months, Now I have been caring for her for 2 months, I’ve had her in daycare since may 6. Moms been gone 2 weeks. I don’t want to let her go. His parents would be good with her most likely, but now I don’t want to give her away. I know I would probably get visits, but it’s not the same. She is scooting backwards. She will be crawling any minute. For now the crisis seems to be over, but I feel the first real worry for the future. As long as he lives with his parents, she would be ok. However, he gets kicked out a lot for drinking and drugs, and although he has been at same job about 2 months now, that’s like a record for him. He usually gets fired for not showing up, because he likes to drink all night. Don’t know how long he will be straight this time. If he files for custody, I’m going to have to file for custody myself, and pull out the stops against them both.
