That\'s very good that they have that. I have had no energy to start anything in my town. Someday maybe. I haven\'t met anyone in person who has gone through the same circumstance.
This is awesome Julie! So proud of you...and I know Greg is proud too!
I join you in my heart. I HATE heroin too!!!!!
What a wonderful thing to do and I am sure an awesome experience.
I\'m sure my first walk is going to be hard, but I know Greg will with me...
Being with others who understand & can relate to our loss can make the journey, not so lonely. I hope this walk & the people on it bring you a feeling of peace.
Thank you, I hope so too, since my family still has no clue...
Julie, I so wish I could be more instrumental in fighting the war against opiates. It is unfortunate that many RX drugs (percs, fentnyl, etc) are opiate based. If I lived near you, I would join your walk! My eldest died from a heroin overdose and my younger son (recovering) had an over 10 year battle with it. He is now in treatment for HepC as a result of it. I also hate heroin. It took my eldest and nearly took my youngest.
Peace.
I know after walking tonight I can not believe how many people have been affected by this drug and how easy it is to get hold of. Thinking about you and your sons. I met several young men on the walk that were in recovery. Still Feel so bad that Greg lost his battle after having been released from the rehab center just 24 hours before. But it was nice to meet and talk with people who understood my thoughts and feelings just like you all on this site...
The walk feels so life affirming and grateful you were able to do it and meet others as well.
To be in the company of those who know is a healing moment indeed.
Loving care to Greg and to you.
XO Joanie
