Walking through the gray area
I once studied, as an elective to a theology requirement in college, at a Zen Buddhist Center outside of the Washington DC area.
There I learned, amongst other things, the practice of 'walking meditation.' It was fascinating to me.
The lesson came back to me today after having a contemplative day, and yet eventually I found myself stuck in thought, and anxiety, about what to do with myself here at home, alone, while I have time off for my weekend.
Walking through the unknown around my home seemed like a reminder of that walking meditation. Just picking up clutter. A kind of making my way through the grey space and allowing myself latitude to just make things happen as they are.
I was wondering too about whether I was asking too much of myself as well as 'what could or would I accept or expect from myself to get on with the day.?' Keep on keeping on. Learning to be ok with myself.
I don't know if this makes sense, but in LA you can't rely on the spirit of the city to call you outside for an exploration and adventure. But that's just me.
We're all just people in our cozy homes.

walking meditation. . . i like that. methinks i've been doing that all my life, though my favorite name for my own walking meditation is, "listening for the quiet voice." i solidly believe that angels listen to those who walk. ya just gotta listen.
i would agree that you are entirely too hard on yourself and entirely too worried about the inner workings of other people.
bee you. everybody else is taken

Thanks Arfie!
Thanks for the song too Arfie!
Walking meditation is a lovely thought. As a non-driver, I walk a LOT and it maybe has always been, in a sense, meditative for me.
I took that writing class last summer, being a Flaneuse in my own city….writing and walking. Its a really remarkable activity and maybe not as popular in car-centric USA.
Sending sunday hugs.
Thanks Nikki!!
