Waking up
A virtual hug to my friends here. I woke up this morning late as I requested it ( I wrote this journal earlier but did not publish it.)
So grateful for the flexibility folks have here and saying it's ok to do this a couple times a week. I woke up so rested but was of the mind to not do the physical work around the room. I had to think about it in a special way to motivate myself.
At the outset I was like "a cat touching water" in regards to the physical labor - but I knew it had to be done - and I thought
how nice it would be to have it done and that motivated me to get to it - also I kind bore down on my resistence to the work - not the best thing
to do - but I don't always have access to wisdom - but the wisdom I did know was good enough - so I did it and got down to church for coffee and then morning meal.
After which I took the rectory meals up to the guys - and then helped the deaconess with rearranging the altar- and then
took a new parisihioner on a small tour of the place.
This is kind of a random journal -but last night I thought about how different some of the people in charge think about things
in terms of politics and attitudes - but I suppose if I am not the boss there will always be differences I have with others in the workplace and in leadership positions. I can't run to some better place - I've done that enough in my life to know - it doesn't
exist, there will always be differences - I hope my investment of my time and work here - will be of good service and impactful
and help some folks. Anyways I have a therapist appointment at 1pm then take a Father to the grocery store.
I hope you guys are having a good day.
sending love and light!
Really grateful for all of you!!!

It took me nearly a lifetime to learn, that's what life is. It's one problem after another. Solve one problem and another comes up to take it's place... It'a all a distraction. I never found peace of mind until I got rid of my tv and stopped watching the evening news. When I did that, along with other things that took place in my life at around the same time, I experienced an awakening.....
The church I use to go to had a priest who we all absolutely loved. He talked our language. I remember a sermon he gave once where he spoke about visiting the Vatican and touring the whole facility. He was not in awe....Seeing how they ran everything made him realize that they were no better then him and that he could have probably done a better job then they were doing.....
People are fallible no matter where you go so I no longer look up to anyone anymore. We are all the same. We just choose to listen to a different voice from time to time......and that's ok.....
God Bless
A virtual hug right back atcha! I’m glad you got some good rest. I love your “cat touching water” analogy. :) They must be so appreciative of all you do for them at the monastery. Hope your day continues to go well!
Thanks Bob and Susan!!!
you seriously believe being the boss will eliminate those personal diffs? reality check, bubba. the boss is the switching center for those diffs. besides, community rules are more often established by committees and committees are proof that none of us --not even the boss-- is as stupid as all of us.
i hate it when my long departed mommy dearest is right, but she was right about the need to pick your poison. there is no shangri-la. ya gotta pick a set of imperfections and make it work. life is not about being perfect. it's about working it out.
Thanks Arfie! You rock!
Virtual hug for you and the gang Marky
