wake up little susie, wake up.
Having a hard time following the instructions of "Wake up little Susie." I am crazy with sleepbugs. A long time ago I was at a grocery store check out line. A young Dad and his 3 year old toddler were in front of me. You know all those temptations hanging on wire racks at check-out........the little boy was pointing at a bag of sugary candy corn and then at those orange slices. His Dad said you know it's not a good idea.......wistfully the little guy said, "I know, they gots sugarbugs. He said it with such sorrow, such longing.
Today I got sleepbugs like that little guy referring to sugarbugs. Still can't decide if that child's parent was brilliant or a stinker, but we all figure out how to handle the challenge of the stores with kids in tow. We all have to deal with the challenge of sudden want want wants................sometimes we want to have a good throw down and say "BUT I'll die, I'll just die if I can't have THIS, you never let me have ANYTHING. When in truth, we will not......not die nor are we without the basic necessities. My daughter used to be a premiere toddler, she would say, "I want what I want when I want it." Hand on hip, little foot stomping the floor and it was beyond hard not to dissolve into giggles cause she was the very picture of over the top cute.
But sometimes we all want to want what we want when we want it. I get it.
So my daughterface surprised me yesterday with a "hey I can be there in a half hour wanna grab some dinner?" YESSSSSSSSS, I put my soup in the frig and tidied up my bad self and said wahooooooooo! Off we went to catch up and talk. She is the definition of bizzzzzzzee bee right now. She went to Ikea and got some stuff for the new cafe. She brought it out this way to get her MIL's approval on the design choices she's making. She worked T/W/TH/Fri and works again today at the country club. Her feet are killing her! I feel for her poor sore tootsies. Truly, truly do. She said it's going pretty well, she worked an event that was hosting Mrs. Mitt Romney. She said she saw her on the other side of the room and everybody attending wanted to shake her hand, have a moment with her. She said it was no big deal but there was that little sparkthing a person can experience when being aligned for a moment with someone in world news......LOL. It isn't a big deal, but it is for a millisecond....... Annie is totally hogging my foot rest right now. I want to put my feet UP. She wants to be close by.........a frequent standoff with the two of us.
Sara is heading back into the recording studio on Monday to work on her music project. Derian is sick, Sara had a bug and like she said, "WE share EVERYTHING, sickness and in health, we're big believers in all that...." She says it in this wry funny way of a couple approaching their fifth wedding anniversary next month. Five years already and they are only 25. She is also planning an anniversary trip. They plan to take a long week-end somewhere. WE giggled over random destinations, Magic Kingdom.....Vegasssssss (knowing they would not want to do that) She threw out VERMONT. or Maine.......I said yeah, go to Bar Harbor or a bowling convention/not), suggested Cade's Cove (TN I think. beautiful spot in the fall). Fun to talk about. Anyway, they are looking forward to a mini break to celebrate. Nice. Wow, it is dark outside, it is the middle of the afternoon riggggggggggght? Guess rain must be imminent. Trippy.
So I got my paperwork done. My procrastination project of life. Finally. About time. Went to Publix and had it faxed in. Made a copy of my license for the other paperwork. Did it to the best of my ability and returned to the right people. Feel such a weight come off my shoulders. Why do I drag things out and make them so hard sometimes???????? Wow, while I was there I found a big fat chucked full of cash wallet sitting on the sill of the customer service counter. I mean it was thick with benjamins. Like a few inches thick. My wallet does not have this wad of cash feature. My wallet is airy and light......LOL. Can't help it, I rarely see big wads of cash........giggling, I turned it in, hope the man who left it realized and was able to retrieve it quickly........meepsers. For all we know it could be his rent and medicine and food money for the month. The girls at the counter said WHOA first thing.......it was something to see. Special thanks to those girls, I was moving so slow and they were so kind, so patient.
The kid I met at the tail end of my grocery shopping later that day deserves a special thanks also. He was such a great young person. New to the area, transplanted from Los Angeles. He said it's so peaceful out here.........time is slowed down with all these trees. After LA, I would think so...........he is a college freshmen, the nicest kid. We had such a nice chat. He asked me so many questions. I told him he was a natural born interviewer. He laughed and said I hope I didn't wear you out. Been told that I am too curious all my life. I think curiosity is a huge asset. Opens you up to so many possibilities you may have never ever thought to consider. Anyway had some bright spot moments this week and wanted to share.
Sara liked my Kohl's bargains.....a plum top and dark pink sweater. My pants are too long, so she sat me down and rolled them up. Felt like a kindergarten kid for a minute............lol. She took away my two inch heels (only cause my pants were too long and slapped on my pink flats. I said you're gonna be such a good momma bear. They will shrink to the just right length in no time, I'm not worried. I am getting shorter, but I have lonnnnnnnng legs. done talking now. feed me........i've got leftovers I can nuke. Bonus......!!!!
sending you hugs via hugsvelocity wire service. it's brand new, super fast, feel the hugs squeezing you gently? it's super fast ........and super soft. Sunday love, sparrow
