volunteer thing today
I'm going to a volunteer event at a local foodbank today.
We'll be serving meals to folks who are experiencing
hard times. My Dad, Stepmom and I initially intended to
go together, but now, because of a complication, I am going by myself.
It should be fun even so!
When I get home I've got a third of a chicken pot pie to
eat for lunch that we, the three of us, started to eat last night...
it's super good, so that should be nice.
I want to exercise as well.
As a tangent to all this, I am so coming aware that as a younger
person, keeping physically active used to be so easy and wanted!
Now that I am 54, and since I have had emotional challenges that have forced
me to work on my frame of mind rather than just my physical whim, I find it
much harder to motivate to get exercising.
Also the body that I used to have, isn't there anymore - I am a lot more stiff
and not as sure on my feet!!
I really want to get back into a routine of 'sanus corpus sana mente.'
It's unnerving a bit - (to expose myself to the forces of my physicality)
but I am realizing it's so essential to quality of life -
good stretching - good exercising... I guess if I think about it 'in balance'
I can't be focused on all body or all mind. So it'll be somewhere in between..ahhh peace!

How nice that you’re helping at the Food Bank! Also, I’ve found that sticking to a daily exercise schedule helps with motivation. My body starts to expect it at a certain time. And a little daily stretching really helps with the stiffness. Your body/mind balance sounds like an awesome plan! Enjoy the rest of your day!
thanks gr8ful1!
back from volunteering. It was fun!
Great to hear that you enjoyed volunteering today! It's wonderful that you helped out at the food bank. I enjoy exercising, but you're absolutely right that our bodies don't always want to cooperate as we get older! Good luck finding a balance that works well for you!
Thanks Ladybug!!
