Visit with the Palliative care doctor
Wow, I am certainly glad that we have a Palliative Care physician available to us. He is very good at what he does, and wrote down everything he said, outlined where we are at and where we are going. All in all, he is impressed at how well my hubby is doing right now. He explained how the progression of kidney cancer is unlike any other cancer (except maybe melanoma), in that there are many plateaus and bits of gradual decline, where as in other cancers there is a main plateau and then decline. He is also very accepting and supportive of the fact that my hubby's priority is quality of life. We have established a good working relationship and will be able to go about our daily lives, knowing what warning signs to look for, and knowing that we have a physician who understands my hubby's goals. What a blessing! As my status says, I will yet praise God, and I pray that I continue to give praise and thanksgiving to God, no matter what challenges life brings. :)
