Video Vault: Classic Horse Race Calls, Two of Them
I feel a need to bump those last two entries off, so take a gander at this and laugh:
There are people who will bet horses just based on the name. Sometimes, those horse names -- and there have been millions by now -- create unforgettable calls. In this race from Monmouth Park on August 22, 2010, keep an eye on the 3 horse, Mywifenosevrything, and the 7 horse, Thewifedoesntknow. What happens at the end between these two horses is priceless, and was featured on ESPN's Sportscenter the next morning.
The track announcer for this race is Larry Collmus, who for those of you following the Triple Crown has been doing those races for NBC this year. He's not as good as Tom Durkin in my overrated opinion, but draw your own conclusions.
