VERY UNHAPPY!!! thus the capital letters to signify :)

I am really angry right now! grrrrrr. We had two birthday parties to go to today. So from noon until three we went to our neices 5th. Then we had an hour and a half to kill. Then from four thirty until seven thirty we were going to go to Joey's cousins. At least, that was the plan.

Hes playing a game with his dad, and I tell him 'last round then we have to go' and he says 'ok'. Then at twenty past seven he says he and his dad are going to go look at a car. I'm upset, but I grit my teeth and let him abandon me at a party filled with nothing but in laws. He was gone for an hour. So we get home just after eight thirty, I still had to bath Marlow. He can't find his phone and figures he left it at his aunt's. So he goes to grab it 'quick'. He's been gone for almost 2 hours! He promised me we could have an 'us' night tonight. But he also starting building this coffee table that I got him as a suprise, he really wanted it, and he hasn't finished it. So we have a freaking schmoz of wood and screws all over my LIVING ROOM floor! He pulled all the tools out of the closet looking for a particular screw driver and didn't clean them up. When he finally does get home he has to finish it, and it's going to take him at least another hour or two! It's pretty complex.

I'm really upset that he could be so insensitive and not even think twice about it!

I wish I could understand the mind of the man and give you some advice here... but I\'ve been pretty baffled by male behavior myself lately. I try to figure out why they behave a certain way or say certain things. I go over it and over it in my head, trying to figure out if it\'s intentional, some passsive-aggressive expression of anger, etc. But when it comes down to it, the conclusion that I always have to reach to the question- \"what was he thinking?\" is this- he wasn\'t. I think most men give very little thought to all of this stuff. \"Oh, it\'s no big deal, just a few hours, she won\'t mind.\" Yet inside, you\'re totally pissed. I\'ve just decided that I am going to start telling my other half EVERY TIME he says or does something to hurt my feelings. Like maybe I can train him into starting to THINK. I don\'t know if it\'ll work, but it\'s all I can come up with. As for the other men who are baffling me, like my dad, I think I\'m just stuck- nothing much I can do or say there. He\'s always right, so there\'s no point. I think for any real sensitivity, we need to turn to the women in our lives. I get it in bits and pieces from John, of course, otherwise I doubt I\'d love him so much, but for consistent understanding, I talk to other women. Which is probably why you came on here to vent. I wish I could help more, but, as I said, I don\'t get men either right now.

Oh, btw, how is your other ferret doing? I read what you posted about your ferrets but never had a chance to comment- we\'ve had a really crazy week. I\'m so sorry about Bueller. It\'s so NOT silly to cry- I\'ve been absolutely devastated in the past when I lost one of my cats. Pets are family members! I love ferrets. They\'re such cool little creatures. :) I\'d never seen one until my best friend got two about five years ago... she\'d bring them over and they\'d actually play with my two cats!! I thought the cats would attack them or the ferrets would be afraid, but no, they were buddies. She eventually ended up with seven ferrets, I believe. Unfortunately, over the last year, she\'s lost her cat and several ferrets. And she was crushed every time one died- it\'s totally normal! I\'d love to have another pet, maybe a ferret, but we have four cats so any other pets are not an option. I really want a small dog, but I feel like it\'s not fair if I don\'t have a yard they can run in. We have some outdoor space, but it\'s not fenced and I wouldn\'t want to risk that... too many cars around. Anyway, again, so sorry about Bueller. Pets are just amazing- it seems like mine can make me smile when nothing else can.

He\'s eating, but he\'s depressed. Joey\'s nephews knocked in the screen to the ferret room while playing kick ball one day and didn\'t say anything for fear of getting in trouble. So the window has been open and screenless for a month, and that\'s where the damn flies were getting in! But Bandito is so depressed he lets them bite him and doesn\'t even react! So we fixed the screen and tomorrow we are going to go equip ourselves with fly killing arsenal. The damn things are making him bleed and it\'s going to stop! He eats a mouthful or two a day, and he is drinking. His hair loss has sped up, and for some reason he\'s twitchy now. I\'ve never been scared to touch him before but the way he is acting makes me nervous. When I try to touch him he jumps back and he actually hissed at me! So I\'m trying to let him get through it on his own I guess.
