venting & gratitude in one journal, RANDOM!
huh, well.......uh, huh,
hi, how are you......i just tried on a dress I bought via e-bay. Prior to purchase I asked (the lady seller) if this dress was high enough in front to wear to church......the lady said yes, it was perfect for church, very dressy, not too low cut.....floor length. And the fabric could not be seen through.....so I got it. This lady and I must attend different churches. She must go to the Church of the Mighty Fine Cleavage Show of Our Lady of GAGA and I go to the church where we don't ........show cleavage. Specifically I asked if this was a higher scoop neck as I didn't want to show cleavage. I will have to find some kind of tank top that works with the dress and doesn't look stupid if I want to wear this dress in public.
When I was younger I was a little more daring.........now I find myself uncomfortable in public often.......tops so low cut that it makes me embarrassed for them. Is this a sign that I am a fuddy duddy? Have I become more conservative or is it fair to say that women are throwing away mystery in lieu of here i am, come and get it! sorry, that wasssss rude. my son in law says he doesn't know where to look most of the time and spends a lot of time being very uncomfortable too. my daughter doesn't dress this way...... my son doesn't date a lady that flashes, she's classy and my daughter is too...... so maybe i am not as old as i am in favor of saving some of that stuff for privacy/grown folks relationships behind closed doors?!?!
anyway.....again, how are you?
i scraped my butt off the sickness floor and did the stuff a person gots to do. went out on Thursday. went to an express place for emissions certification, then to the tag office for the 2016 car tag. followed by a trip to the dmv to renew my license......and since I was already out and pretty much dead I got a hair cut and took myself to dinner.
it was a big big big day out for a sick chick. oddly enough the express place was not....express and they charged a high rate. in our state a business can ask anywhere from $10 to a limit of $25 to do emissions testing. i forget details like this from year to year and this doesn't help my blood pressure at all. i went to a place that charged $25 without it ever hitting my memory bank that i should not have stayed. it's a combo oil change/car wash place. i've been getting car washes there for years. it took an hour to get done. it was RIDICULOUS AND MY BLOOD PRESSURE WENT UP AS I FUMED IN MY CAR.....the general manager frank was useless........in settling the issue. he doesn't know how to manage.....and they forgot to give me the "free car wash" or give me a rain check certificate.....free my heinie........arghhhhhhh, growl, growl, big dog growl........so not FREEEEE, they give you the cheapest wash and make a huge profit and they are not express.
please Lord help me sharpen my memory banks, brain fog or not, so i can afford to live and not high blood pressure hate price gougers, legal or not. ......i looked up info about the price structure and ended up sending a letter to the clear air commission for georgia.
i want to know why they don't set a fair price......for all. if there is a little bit of competitive pricing ok.........but the discrepancy for the same service is too much in this crabby lady's opinion.
i'm glad i got my hair trimmed, bangs too so I can see again.......yay. And i enjoyed eating out. I sat there and ate too many of those crunchy noodle things while i waited for my food.....(chinese cuisine) so when my food arrived I only ate a few bites. but it was great leftovers, so no complaints.
the places where we typically feel frustration, the tag office and the dmv? not a problem at all. they were fast, efficient, friendly, helpful.........the tag office? in and out in under ten minutes. the dmv, in and out in under thirty. it took 11 minutes to complete the application at a computer, then i was given a ticket for service, and waited maybe 7-10 minutes. the lady got everything done/issued the temp license in about five so not even a half hour.
so go GA for improving service above and beyond expectations........!
while at both of these office i surveyed the waiting public and found that every person i asked paid $15 for their emmissions certificate and it only took overall 5-8 minutes, one person said they waited 15, but only because the person in front of them failed and it took a little extra time for the explanation of why the vehicle failed. this is what got my goat ramped up about the price and the lack of EFFICIENCY at the place I went.
i should be making heart healthy soup, it's the perfect day for it, but i want salad and a slice of pizza. so here i sit getting hungrier and hungrier, not a salad or a pizza in sight..........sigh. so sad.
since i've been in bed since i got home thursday i was glad to be able to get up about 2 pm and shower. my mind formed a plan........to make my home dwelling owner & visitor friendly instead of scary messy mess. so far? trash to the curb, brought in the mail. filled and ran dishwasher. drying second load of cotton.......vacuumed the bedroom, tidied the sheets......fresh pillow cases. febreze for everybody.........the sofa and the rugs and just everybody got a spritz of smell good sauce. wiped the counters and cleaned the stovetop. ........dealt with the issue with the manager at the lube shop to get a better free car wash in care of their big prices/poor service, sent that msg to the clean air committee......folded a load and put it away. feel very industrious. and to make it really fun, i am wearing a dress with leggings, a pretty blue sweater........a green scarf..........feels like it might be national Donna Reed Day .........feeling downright feminine.......not wearing pumps though........nay nay. i am wearing colorful flowery socks and lined winter slippers for WARMTH. it is chilly inside and out to day.
what to have for dinner? .......there is a five dollar pizza place about ten minutes away, but i don't wanna go out. i don't have much in the way of salad stuff.......i have breakfast stuff and i have leftover roast. i have food.........just not the food i want. color me whiny.........that chinese food reminded me of the days when i could eat out more and cook less..........sam is working on tickets for the Harlem Globetrotters........I have always wanted to see them. So he is trying to make it happen........it looked like it wouldn't work out, so I called the company that owns the Globetrotters.......and the person who serves at director of marketing offered us a 35% discount plus we can get the offer at the box office. this means we can save the cost of convenience fees. convenience fees are $10 per person........which means if you buy the least expensive ticket at $17.50 per person, the convenience fee is really high is this lady's opinion......in my son's opinion also. the arena varies pricing based on individual contract agreements with different events. so in the case of the globetrotters, the arena is charging a facility fee plus a hci or is it hgi fee ( and this fee is not readily explained either. when i buy a gallon of milk i don't want to pay a separate fee for the store rent, or for the cleaning lady's fee and so forth, i expect the price to be all inclusive. i get that things vary from industry to industry........but i don't think that as a customer i should pay these added fees in addition to tickets......it all seems pretty sneaky to me. they should sell it as a total price per person so you aren't rooked or at risk of becoming angry when you see all the fees that are relatively hidden from the onset. this all started because they sent me an email hawking a valentines day special of $8 off per globetrotter's ticket. what i saw wasn't $8 bucks off, it was a few dollars off the ticket fee and a few dollars off the separate facility fee and so on........it made me mad. the marketing director said it was sent out incorrectly, it was all her fault and she would help us work out the ticket issue for our little group.........so yay, good to know and glad i pursued it instead of giving up in my original puddle of frustrated tears. i am brainfoggy and i get a lot of things mixed up, but i still have some gumption and reason left in my bag of life tricks.........and you do too, so don't you for get it!

I bought a little cloth that hooks onto your bra straps on both sides and you can cover cleavage with it. The girls call it my \"boob cover.\" I used to be pretty open about cleavage, but I\'ve mellowed in my old age :). Anyway, that works pretty well so I can still use my old blouses. I just have that little cloth in there now. Some churches are opposed to \"toe cleavage.\" I\'m serious. It\'s a thing. Toe cleavage is when you wear open-toed shoes and your toes are squished together. I had a friend who went to speak at a church and they asked him his position on \"toe cleavage.\" Wow, the things people worry about. Apparently, the toe cleavage might cause someone to think of the real thing. So, it was banned in that church. Much love.
I have never heard of toe cleavage........whatttt? Wow, that is wild, I have shoes with the toe cut out and never thought it was a risque thing. They A R E T O E S? What do I know, but I did once work at a place with a guy who had a foot fetish.......he stared hard at every lady foot during sandal season......it was creepy! He sat next to me for awhile and he would start breathing hard........freaked me out. He couldn\'t seem to control his reaction/obsession at all........I will look for that cloth that hooks onto the bra straps......see if I can find something with lace trim on the edge maybe, or add it to an existing cloth.....that\'s an idea, thanks!
Yeah, the one I have has lace trim. So, it looks pretty much like it belongs there. My mom got it for me. If I knew where she got it, I\'d tell you, but I do know that they exist. Wow, the foot fetish guy sounds super creepy. Yuck! I know the Bible says not to cause a brother to stumble, but if my toes can do that, then I think it\'s more his problem than mine. Love you.
My church doesn\'t have a dress code but all dress appropriately if you can find appropriate clothing in the stores. My problem is dresses you cannot bend over when you are wearing them. For the last few years dresses have been too short for my comfort. We can wear pants tho and I frequently do so. My chest is nothing I want to show off either but I have a lot of scarves.
I love you ladies to pieces.......the church I attend doesn\'t have a dress code, but I take my cue from what I see. You can dress up or dress casually, it\'s all good, but you don\'t see mini skirts or low cut tops or backless items and so forth. It\'s more like teacher casual if you will ......not dance club wear. I also love accessories.....adding scarves, jewelry.....little sweaters. Esp. sweaters cause I always run a little cold......the rest of the time I run a lot cold!
Tonight I was restless, so I went back online to look at more dresses.......what is a wiggle dress? This was listed as the actual style.......the actual dress was very pretty, a dressy sleeveless black and white polka dot dress with a matching scarf.....looked like a pretty afternoon garden party........not sure where one wears wiggle styles......it did make be giggle....but that is probably another style altogether.....I like below the knee length ........and floor length a lot......my knees look older......than some of my other parts. now i am laughing.......i hope you can find longer dresses Soapy and I hope we can all spend life in comfy clothes.......!!!! With fibro I like things looser and flowy these days......nothing that binds too much. The other night I fell asleep in denim leggings and woke up trying to shed them like a snake skin. They felt ok earlier in the day, but that night they seemed to be holding my skin too tight and that\'s how I knew the fibro symptoms were on en force from my big day out..............the foot guy was not your usual creep, he was a double creeper......hadn\'t even thought of him in several decades, time to forget him again! .......boob cover........I just got that. wow i am so slow sometimes......ha ha ha ha ha!
Oh, my gosh! I have so tried to shed denim leggings like a snake skin. Yeah, the girls came up with \"boob cover.\" They don\'t like me to show any \"boobage\" as they call it. It is embarrassing for them for their \"elderly\" mother to even HAVE boobs, much less allow them to be slightly visible. Love you.
Wow, I can\'t believe all that you got done, both days, the one where you went out & the second when you cleaned house. You are my inspiration. Good job. Sorry, you had such a bad experience with your first stop, though. What a pain but you should feel so proud of yourself for getting so much done.
My daughter & I each use a cute lace concealer with low cut tops. We are both very modest & have found selections of modest dresses can be hard to find. We were able to find the cute lace \"boob covers\" on Ebay for very reasonable prices.
I enjoyed your journal & look forward to the next. Hugs, Denise
Nope.I aint no booby flashin gal.Nope lol.!! I have big boobies and I keep them covered. I\'m a chaste old girl.I do like nice clothes though like you Ruthie.I love leggings too.I wear them in our very short winter here.
Ha ha . I\'m cracking up about the hard breathing foot fetish guy.Creepy yes but hysterical lol!! As for exposed toes...yeah I can dig that being considered offensive in certain places.I was in Bangkok once and wasn\'t allowed to enter the Kings Palace unless my heels and toes were covered.Strangely and unfairlyI noticed many local Thai people being aallowed in with the wrong shoes on.So they told me I had to hire some special shoes, which I did.Problem was they didn\'t have my size.Only a pair 2 sizes too big and I kept walking out of them and I looked so stupid. My daughter enjoyed taking photos of me and giggling.Usually you just leave your shoes at the door of any temple.
A wiggle dress sounds like a tight fitting dress that you wiggle your bum in. Nah...that wouldn\'t be right. Maybe it\'s a dress that used to be worn by a member of the Wiggles (band for kids called The Wiggles).Nah..dunno.lol!!
Oh hang on..you\'ve already seen it so you do know what it looks like.Duh sorry.
Good job Ruthie with the house chores. As soon as I pick up..mmm...2040 ??.. I will give you a run for your money girlfriend and attack my housework and send you a HUGE list of achievements. Yeah right lol!!
OK. I\'m going now because I\'m brain fogged.Only had 4 hrs sleep.Forgive me for not commenting on the pizza or the noodles or the car rip off.
Hey I wonder if the guy who wanted to talk about the toe cleavage is related to the heavy breathing foot guy.?? Ha ha. You never know.Bye love Di xo
