values

thoughts of mine are on the monastery today.

I find myself very happy living alone with Blue today -

and somehow 'happy with my self discipline and successes at that' in taking care of

all my chores for myself and him and my family. Part of me thinks it would be a nice way to live

in this way at the monastery...living in kind of a disciplined way with a group of people...

taking care of life...

Minimal contact and such - but I feel like in musing about it,

it would be a kind of game

of obedience - and self discipline - and self containment,

to protect ourselves from the interactions along the way - which I all would take pride in -

and support others responsibly there as well -

but then I also feel like I wouldn't be fighting the good fight - the real fight

of living in the real world...

I mean we all have to fight the barriers

and obstacles in our daily 'getting along' and getting what we want and need and

have to do/responsibities...

So maybe I am thinking the two would be separate? - when in fact they

would be oh so intertwined still? It would just be another kind of getting

along 'in and with' life?

Just thoughts.

Sending good vibes,

Mark

I thought monastery values were more about serving God than escaping the world. Am I flaunting my ignorance?

People are often allowed to go on retreats into convents and or monastery and it gives them a chance to escape the technology outside world.

I heard about it through a layman carmelite friend. Not widely advertised.

You are working through all the things possible with your journal writing! Success!

Thanks you guys. I have this engine inside that torments me but my journaling and your support really help me manage my life. My therapist too has become someone I turn to as well so very intensely... just trying to normalize this thing within and the lability. Peace.

I definitely went through spiritual awakenings in each ´break’ I had in my mental health journey. It’s a sort of lived meditation for me these days. Glad you have a good therapist to discuss, and glad that journaling helps.

thanks Sensitive. The engine inside me is definitely needing to be managed tonight as it's keeping me awake.

I got a good sort of epiphany about it in another way while watching the news tonight.
I thought about my challenges to manage my 'mental engine' and then I started to look and listen
to the senator being interviewed and I just started to see depth there - that each of us has
an emotional challenge that we all have to negotiate and cope with while we live life -
we go for ideals and maybe adjusted ideals - as we each have an emotional life -
and psychological life that we all negotiating.

It's helping me for sure.

Sleep well you guys!
