Urges were squelched- feel good!

Today I had the urge to go; there are two friends at work that I used to go with; both have now gotten to a point of saying it is NOT worth it; all three of us got addicted and have now acknowledged it.  So.. when I had the urge to go and was actually talking about following through, one had many suggestions of things I could go and do - talk a walk, buy something nice for myself instead, go to the park, etc.,  so I came away with no comrads to go off track with.  Not that that really matters; I've gone alone many times, but it made me feel like if they were going to remain STRONG, so was I.  It is the right thing to do; I have fought this animal for a long time.  I truly do know that I AM A COMPULSIVE GAMBLER... that's the truth; I can't deny it and I have to face the truth, as hard as that is.

I feel good now that I didn't go... hard to do the RIGHT thing and I know I am still SO addicted, BUT it feels good to be STRONG.

Take care everyone - let's all remain GF!

Yeay! WTG, SG. It is so tough to battle these impulses. For me, too. But, everytime you do it, it brings you power. Power to know you did it once, you can do it again. It really does help. That is another great thing (for me) about DS and GA. Accountability. Love ya, sorry I have been so absent...~Estel
