Updating!

Hi everyone,I just thought i would take a few minutes to update my journal.  I was writing a lot for a while and now for some reason it has become a little bit of an effort.  But - I will pursue it anyway. As some of you know, I had been struggling hard with procrastination and time management issues recently.  I'm serious about overcoming this as it is a thorn in my side now and is causing me a lot of stress quite frequently.  Anyway, my husband & I recently had a small party/lobster feast at our house.  I realized from watching my husband get things done that I've got to take a page out of his book.  Things kept happening on the day of the party to delay my progress . . . and he really bailed me out!!!  I had to make the Boston Cream Pie TWICE since I was missing an ingredient and substituted incorrectly, so the cake came out too thin... out to the store thinking I could quickly pick the item up; wrong . . . it was chewing up time greatly and at the last minute I was making the filling and frosting of the 2nd cake with my husband piecing together what was stuck on the bottom of the pan, etc. and hiding the flaws for me. Whew - so he did a lot of tasks that I SHOULD have been getting done.  It was wild - he put up candles, a snow village, set the table really beautifully and pieced together my cake in no time. :] :] He's really incredible.  Now I can't expect to be something I"m not, but I CAN increase my efficiency and become more organized.  Today I tried plunging into a project at work I've been putting off because it was overwhelming and I did it - felt good getting it accomplished and it came out beautifully.  So... I just have to try a little harder.  You wouldn't think at this age I'd have all of these lessons to learn, but I guess we all do. Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the holiday season.  There are temptations for us CG's of course I'm feeling them too myself, but one day at a time!!Hugs to all,Smokeygirl

It is just lovely to hear your praise of your hubby....so nice to be appreciating the one you love!!!

Congrats on attacking that job at work....everytime I get started and finish something I\'ve been putting off, I\'m always amazed at how little it really took to get it done, and always a little ashamed of myself for putting it off so long....lol

Glad you are not acting on those temptations....me either!....the holidays will be very different this year with no gambling and the stress and heartache that go along with it!

Hugs and Love,
Dianne

Ahhh- procrastinating - I can relate. For me it\'s putting off until I can do things perfectly - it is getting better and I love it when I can tick the box. I have realised that my hubby and I are so different but we do compliment each other- isn\'t it great that he gets you and he wants to help? Hugs Suzi

Again, preaching to the choir. I see no end to my professional career as a procrastinator unfortunately. I can so visualize me making that pie..or not making it...lol. Even with my ocd, I accomplish very little most days; but glad to know others have similar problems, and fight the gambling urges too...thanks for being here..
