update pon progress
I have completed my second week of home dialysis training and am now putting my own needles in and out. These morning sessions are so much better as I get to dialysis at around 7.00 in the morning and am still tired as I make sure I stay up late the night before. Once I am set up on dialysis it is quite easy to drop off to sleep again so I usually get 2 to 3 hours sleep which makes the session so much more bearable. The training is supposed to last for about 12 weeks but they think I am quicker than most so could be as soon as 8 weeks. Unfortunatley I am still sick after my dialysis sessions. I get flu like aches and pains but the oxycodone I am taking does a good job in masking these although I still feel very weary. I still find it a struggle walking and after a few paces need to sit down so I am investing in a walker with a seat so that I can be more independent and not have to rely on being with someone when I go shopping. I am due at transplant clinic tomorrow as they want to asses whether there is enough room for a kidney transplant now that my liver has taken on a life of its own. I personally think I have enough room as I do not feel anywhere near as bad as before when I had 2 large kidneys but it is getting worse every day. If I get the thumbs up I will go on the transplant list. I have also been accepted on disability living allowance which is a huge help financially, and as this is not means tested my salary does not affect it. Things between me and my husband were going well since he told me he didn't want to be with me anymore on Jan 1st. THis is mainly because I am not being myself and have to be very careful what I discuss with him. I don't know whether we have a future together. I hope we do and we can get past this but not so sure. He is happy when I'm doing housework but he doesnlt seem to realise that I am really not up to this and I am trying to hide how I feel every day. Anyway we'll just have to see how that goes. Bye for now x

I am pleased you are learning to do your dialysis yourself. I found it so hard to read your message as you get no support from your husband and you have been through so much. I have a wonderful husband and nothing is too much for him. You are a very brave and stoic woman and you deserve so much more. I am always here for you and I know your other friends at DS will be also. I will say a prayer for you tonight and please know my thoughts are always with you. Love and blessings, Nita x
Hello Honey!
Learning to do your dialysis will be such a blessing. My uncle had his own machine and did it overnight. He found that interferred much less with his life. I will be praying that you are accepted on the transplant list, and that a kidney will be found quickly. So sorry that things are not going well with you and your husband. It sounds like he is having a very difficult time accepting how your health has affected your stamina and life. I will pray that if it\'s God\'s will for y\'all to work through this, it will be so. Keep that beautiful spirit, and know that I am here for you.
My Love,
Ingrid
Hi, I have not been here for you as I should have. I have not been getting notices of journals written by my friends. I have gone back and read some of your journals and I can see you have really struggled. I am so sorry about all of the problems you have had and I will pray that things get easier for you. You must be a very brave person and I am happy that you are learning to do home dialysis.
I wish the best for you and your husband. It is in God\'s hands. Maybe things will work out, if not you can do this!!!

Thank you all so much for your lovely supportive comments as usual. Please don\'t worry if we have not communicated in a while- I know you are there if I need you. Good news is I have been accepted to join transplant list as surgeon reckons I have a bit of space on my right side that should be enough. They did say though that they will need to check me regularly especially since my liver appears to be in the \'grow\' stage. The other night my hisband was out on a minibus job in the early hours and we had had our chat that night. When he came in at about 3.00 am he kissed me. He has never ever done this before so I didn\'t mention it I just went back to sleep. Hopefully it\'s a good sign. Julie x
Hopefully it is Julie. You have enough to worry about currently with your health and truly do not need the additional burden of non support from your husbnd. Maybe the kiss was his way of saying he will support you.I\'m thrilled to hear about the possibility of transplant. Wish I could get one but I am not a candidate because I am over 60 and have the cancer issues. Is there anyway they can control the growth of the liver? That would make it easier for you and a transplant. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers
at all times. Andrea
