Update new dialysis centre
Well I did my first session at Bolton dialysis centre yeserday. My inital thoughts are that it is going to be a lot better. There are no beds just reclining chairs but these have an extra padded cusion on them to make them dead comfy so I didn't struggle with any backache yesterday. Also the parking is right outside the entrance so no need to walk miles once I have parked up. They don't provide sandwiches though as did my last unit but as I take my own anyway so this is not an issue.
Unfortunately I am now having consistent pain from hy huge liver which has dropped and is protruding through my skin. I can even see the buklges where the cysts are. I was struggling breathing last night and have suffered with a lot of pain so I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to manage with this. I have noticed my appetite slipping again - just hoping I don't end up back on milk drinks. Feeling really down at the moment and daren't discuss with my husband because he takes this kind of news much worse than I do.

dear Julie, sorry you are in constant pain and your breathing is not good. Try and keep strong and know that i am praying for you. I feel sad that you are down at the moment and that you feel you cannot discuss things with your husband. It helps so much to talk about things and i am lucky in this respect. I am always here to listen to you so please get in touch anytime. I do empathise with you. Blessings, Nita x
Thank you Nita. I have talked to the hospitl about my issues with my liver and whilst they did know I had a big liver they did not realise just how big. They have talked aut the possibility of liver transplantation to me but if I was successful with this it could fail and I would be in dire straights. I am just plodding along to see how long I can cope- The pain seems to be getting worsse every day so I am nt hopeful at the moment. Julie x
Julie,
Am so sorry to hear of all your current problems. I was hoping that the move to this new location would be the end of needless inconvenience and exertion. I am pleased that you are liking the facility itself. It does scare me a bit that you feel as though you shouldn\'t tell your husband. You need his support. I know initially he didn\'t deal well but he came through when needed and was helpful. Even the moral support from him or your daughters would be so helpful. I don\'t know how you hide the pain so well and they don\'t realize that something is wrong. Again, I\'m so sorry and wish I could take some of the pain for you. You are in my prayers. p.s. Don\'t let the doctors keep you in pain. Ask for some meds. Andrea
HI Andrea
Thank you for your kind words and suggestions. I am now taking stronger pain meds which more or less control the pain for me but the look of my belly with lumps protruding is not a nice sight. I am going to press to have the prtotruding cysts drained to see if that helps at all. Also had a bit of good news yesterday. They have a training slot starting a week on Monday so am hopeful that soon I will be able to home dialyse. Also having dialysis session in afternoon instead of evening is sokmuch better as after effects of dialysis wear off much sooner so I feel as though I have more good time than bad time now. And when I start on home training my session will start at 7.00 a.m so will have even more time I think. It is probably me more than my husband. I am feeling so insecure that I donlt want to set him off again- for now I get the support I need from you guys and my friend is back off her holidays so she is a good help aswell. Hope you are okay Big hugs Julie x
I feel bad that you cannot talk to you husband about how your feeling. He sounds like a very sensitive guy. Glad you like your dialysis center and you are comfortable doing this. Back at the hospital I use to work at, I was down the hall from the dialysis patients. My heart goes out for you and hope everything works out for you.

Thanks Jen. Before all of this I wouldn\'t have described him as sensitive at all but I think he is. He bottles everything up and is very private. I will discuss with him but will do it bit by bit. Thanks again Julie x
Hi Julie,
Just a note to say \"hi\" and that I am thinking of you all the time. Get well and be strong.
Hope you feel better Julie. Prayers sent your way.
Julie, Though I have not written lately you have always been and will continue to be in my thoughts. I\'m sorry to hear again about your husband. It sounds very serious between the two of you. You must put your health and well being before anything else and if he is bringing your down, it will be so much harder for you to move forward with your life. Are you still having the dialysis closer to home? Is there any recent talk about the possibility of a liver transplant? Have your girls been supportive. They must see how your husband has been acting. I am so, so, sorry for all that you are going through. Much love,
Andrea
