up and at 'em
the local Starbucks is closed down for renovations for a week and a half.
So my regularly scheduled jaunt to get coffee first thing at 5am is changed.
I'm usually such a creature of habit but from what I learned yesterday I just
decided to get on with the chores. In doing so my mood lifted and then
when not busy it sank again. There is something about my inner workings
that really powers myself down. Anyhoo, I see it and am offsetting it with
a change in perspective and activity - it comes back - but I then rise to again
go for what I need.
I went to the Dunkin' Donuts for coffee. It's about 5 miles away.
Just going to get on some project around here. Laundry's done,
cat litter cleaned, showered, shaved and dressed and dishes
washed.
Have a good day folks! (hug) <"}}}}}}><

Are there any local coffee shops you could also drive to? We have a flurry of them in my near vicinity and I like hitting different ones. It’s still a habit, a ritual, but exploring different places is also adventurous in a small way. There’s two new ones opening near me soon and I can’t wait to go hang out at both of them! I realize it’s not like that everywhere, but you have a car to explore.
Stay positive today! Have a happy Sunday, mark.
thanks Nikki! The area I live in was all developed in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
It's all very new and planned out. While it's pristine in a lot of ways - there's
not a lot of culture to it. I drove to the Dunkin Donuts - but I don't think
I'll do that again. So it goes, I'll find something else to do! :)
My very first psych dx and still the lion's share of my psychotherapy started as "Manic Depression" and mysteriously morphed into, "Bipolar." The popular theory for that mysterious morphing is that "Medical Doctors" couldn't handle competing with the likes of myself, Winston Churchill and Stephen Spielberg.
The PTSD theories might explain my own peculiar mood swings more thoroughly than beeper theories, but the extremes of those swings make it hard to fault the shrinks who "misdiagnosed" me. I still use most of the therapy tools I learned in beeper therapy quite effectively. The now standardized med therapies were just coming into vogue when I made the transition to the PTSD theories. I'm still pretty clueless on those.
The point I'm trying to reach in this verbal vomit is that, in my case, that post-productivity swing into my old doomer gloomery might be even more established than where I get my morning coffee. Old habits die hard. It's okay feel a bit gloomy when you have to visit a Dunkin when you feel like Starbuckin.
Or am I lost in metaphor again? ? ?
Back here in the literal world, you're probably right to avoid Dunkin. That's a sure way to avoid rubbing elbows with white trash like me.
arfie!!! don't say that!! I just really struggle with abstract things in my life - I guess that's pretty clear -
I need to start a big amorphous project and that's what I am going to do.
Sending peace and good vibes.
Change is good in helping you figure out how to adjust motion, movement, and balance.
I have those mood swings and make sure to get hydrated to lessen the pendulum swing.
Here's to a good day for you!
Good for you getting out for coffee and getting some chores done sweetie... Yay You!!... I'm still sitting here thinking about chores and not moving....ha.... Big hug....xo
Big hug! Thanks Mid and thanks Jan!
Evil grin
I'm not sure which ^that^ I shouldn't have said, but I love playing on rivalries. Coffee addicts --myself included-- have rivalries which are especially fun to play on. Starbucks and Duncan Donuts are among my favorite coffee rivalries. Sometimes I go into one, just to poke fun at the other.
Hey. . . It pays to be able to get your thrills cheap. . . I wanna be the Queen of Cheap Thrills when I grow up.
Go to Dairy Queen. Those frosties are so good!
