Gee Mark, If I had the power to give you absolution, I would do it in a heartbeat! You're such a nice guy that I wouldn't even call that a sin .....a mistake maybe, but not a sin. I would say ah just forgive yourself and let it go!

have you made amends to the victim of your gossip? making amends is the surest route i've tried to a) bring closure to the oopsie and b) get it through my thick head why i don't want to repeat the wrong i have done.
old habits die hard. forgive yourself.
