Ultrasound Today

Sonogram today showed the baby and showed a heartbeat!!!! They couldn't hear it, but the saw it. I am so relieved!!!! I cried again during the sono and afterwards, like a crazy sobbing cry. It looks like according to measurements, I am actually only 6 weeks, not 7. I guess that would explain why my beta numbers seemed low? All in all, it was a good appointment, but I can't end this journal before telling you that my clinic reached an all-time low with its bedside manner today. So the doctor that I like the least was on duty, and he performed my ultrasound instead of the sono tech who usually does it. When he came into the room, I was like, oh no. He speaks very very broken english (chinese is his first language), and his english is so bad that sometimes I really can't understand him and he sometimes even has the nurses translate. So in he walks, and tells me he is doing the scan since yadda yadda something about miscarriage. I start freaking out and said, wait, what?! I gather from what he's saying that since last week they didn't see a baby or see a heartbeat, they were worried today they would see nothing and that I miscarried. He warned me that today they might show this. Luckily, as soon as the wand went in he told me he saw a baby and the heartbeat. I mean, really, I could have done without the m/c warning speech!!!!! Seriously, where is the bedside manner here!? Anyway, I go back in a week. I know today was a good appt, but I don't want to get overly confident here since I know I'm still in a very very risky time period and anything can happen. But, I'm choosing to remain positive and enjoy the fact that things seem to be progressing along well so far. I am soooo hopeful that I have a little fighter in there!!!
