Two Years

This week is the two year anniversary of my diagnosis of Parkinson-ism. I went back and read the first two or three posts when I had first been diagnosed and was just starting on Azilect. Now I have progressed to Carbo-Levo, Pramapexol and Axilect. I have ratcheted up the dose of Preamapexol from 1 tablet 3x per day to 1.5 tablets 3xday and I still have a significaant tremmor in my handsĀ  and feet.
I am routinely waking up at 4:30 to 5:30 as the effect of my bedtime carb-levo tablet wears off. I changed from taking the last dose of Pramapexol at bed time to taking the last dose of carbo-levo at bedtime because I would awaken with strong cramps in the morning. Now the cramps are no longer a problem but sleep suffers and I wind up taking a couple naps each day.
Sometimes I swap back to get a good night's sleep.
In retrospect I can see back to five or six years ago when the symptoms first started and I can see the progression of the disease. If you dwell on it the implications scare you to death.
Later this month I will have my 71st birthday. Getting old sure ain't for wimps.

I was diagnosed two years ago too. We just have to take this one day at a time. I try real hard not to think about down the road implications for that very reason.

I hope you have a fabulous birthday and have loads of fun!

Hugs!
