Two Forgiven
Overdue:
"You can't change your situation. The only thing you can change is how you choose to deal with it."
I heard this quote early this week and have been thinking about it since. I choose to take it one goal at a time when it comes to tearing myself to the very roots.
Mommy- I forgive you!
Father- I forgive you!
It seems like a short time to be able to forgive a life of pain the two have caused. But thus I will exsplain. I've come to the conclusion that even though I still have issues that stem from my biolodgic pain it's time to set the recored straight and put myself into a reality check of sorts. Am I still going to be sad at times and hurt? Yes, why should I not be?
I know how one word gets taken wrong and twisted therefore I cannot believe a million purly on hear-say. My father did what he did but my mother also did what she did. At this point, there is no blame. I refuse to haunt myself with trying to solve mystries and get answers that only they know. If I am supposed to know the answers they will come.
Whats left right now is themselves. I will not side with either, and punish one for the other. It's on them, and up to them to forgive themselves. As a baby there was nothing I could do to fix the situation that was created. So why try to dream of impossible senerios that could have prevented the pain from happening?

At least you know there is nothing you can do to change the past. You can only live your life the way you want to. They have molded the way you think, your selfesteam and how you interact with others but, don\'t let them take what could be. The what could be is that you become better than they would ever imagine, you could be the light that makes their lives more meaningful, you could be the one who changes everything for the better. I see it in you to not be the \"could be\" but the \"you are\"....shine baby shine! Show them!
reality is a tough bullet to bite sometimes. dysfunctional parents usually create dysfunctional children. what made these parents the way they were is, at least, an insight as to why they are that way. forgiving them is a way to find peace within oneself. understanding them is a path to enlightenment with the ability to accept the feelings within ourselves and to love them irregarless of their faults.
Thank you! I think it\'s overdue time for this step! :)
