tuesday morning.

making soup to the sound of carly simon's greatest hits........she's singing "You're So Vain..."

think that Carly and I dated some of the same guys.......there was this one guy named Craig who used to admire himself in EVERY surface......mirrors of course, silverware.....windows.....heck he liked his shadow on the ground as though he was the sexiest shadow ever created......he drove me crazy.  made me feel like the Christmas ornament on his Christmas Tree Self......that boy HAD TO GO!

random memories.....the soup is coming along, doing the usual necessary chores to tidy and restock.  my new friend Helen noted my shelving unit in the garage, dubbed it my "cute little store."  it holds hair products, cleaning, laundry, kleenex.......trash bags....covers the bases when i can't get out for awhile.  Helen said she wants a store in her garage too.....had to laugh, she has a major department store in hers........between the hats, shoes, dresses, purses......and more she could dress you, me and Imelda Marcos......she is FULLY stocked!

these in between days are a Godsend......thank you Lord!  not well enough to go out, but well enough to do things around here......feel like a happy Cinderella.......cept I'm cinderellie in her jammies!  the soup is simmering, the salad is prepped for later.....clothes drying, dishes dishing......music musical.  feeling the joy......slept pretty good sort of and it shows.

by pretty good sort of means the antibiotics are helping, still not over this latest sinus infection, but my voice is healing....less sick yay.

i'm making an outfit for a stuffed teddy bear out of antique lace doilies i got at an estate sale (a long time ago)  i made the top....edges the armholes in lace, as well as the neckline......next up?  i cut out the bottoms out of a matching doily.....need to edge the leg holes and figure out how to finish off the waist.....i already did the general basting to form the shape.  sweet little rescue teddy needs something vintage and stylish......the bottom of the lace doilies has a very pretty ivory scallop......best dressed baby girl bear award may come to this house this year!

no, i was never the girl who successfully sewed growing up, i was a disaster in that department, but now having so much time....patience i enjoy these little projects.  they won't change the world, but they keep me contented in my room on the good days when i have my curtains pulled open to welcome the sun and the beauty of all the fresh green all around me outside.

feeling happy today, thank you Lord again!  these days are precious!  ohhhh, i made an appt to go to a clinic that helps with diet/nutrition/weight loss.  i haven't been terribly successful losing the prednisone weight......it's a cycle really.  i walk, move, do chores and it lands me back in bed.  the pain in my hips, back and legs is taking me down......can't exercise consistently enough to get there any time this year.......very frustrating.  so i'm turning to the experts......this is not a crazy clinic where you eat banana peels and coffee grounds....it's a solid place where they treat everything from weight gain to the heart, endocrine system, orthopedics .......head to toe body help.  i specifically asked for a doctor with a good heart, a kind bedside manner,......for me to be successful i need positive encouragement, not someone who will make me feel like a failure.  no arrogant attitudes need apply.....it may take me twice as long as the average soul to lose the weight but maybe that will also protect me from the other issue.  so many people tell me that when they added prednisone weight then lost it often time gained it all back plus another ten to twenty pounds.  so i'm going to go to the experts with my newly reduced insurance rates/cost to see a specialist and see what can happen.  since i made this appt i feel a weight off my shoulders.......my thoughts feel clearer without this weighing on me.  sigh, sleepy now.......soup is done.

time for a nap!  it's 11:03 am........take care!

Ruthie, I am nothing like Craig but I once had a doctor when I spend 29 straight days in the hospital - he was a resident at that time who thought he was, He made me so mad once that I threaten to cut all of his blonde locks off. He was from Miami - think beach bum to the highest degree. Heck I don't even like to have my picture made.

Your so vain..I bettcha think this song is about you ..don't you...la la la. Ha ha..I wonder how Craig is looking now..not so good..maybe had a face lift ? Do you think he does the ..mirror mirror on the wall, is Craig still the fairest of them all. Oh shut up Diane ..get some sleep you lunatic !
I had one of those old treddle sewing machines when I was a young teenager...a Singer. That was the brand name. I really wanted to make clothes and when I became stuck, I would call out to my mum to help me, but she was always too busy and stressed with five kids, so I eventually gave up. When I met Frank in the seventies, I somehow managed to make him a very groovy shirt and a pair of batik fabric flares. Never made anything much after that. A little bit of repair work etc. Now I get stressed if a button falls off.
Geez..11am and you can have a nap..I am tired out of my brain but can never sleep during the day..not ever.
Signing off and out...saluting you too. Di xoxo
