Hello SOTH'S - Today was my first day back after having 2 days of Jury Duty...what a joke! Friday we sat around for 4 hours, only to be dismissed and told to return Monday @ 9:30. WE returned @ 9:30 on Monday. WE waitied another 2 hours, told to leave, return @ 1:30....returned, stayed for 30 minutes and released from jury duty.....REALLY? What a waste of my time. Anyway I'm fortunate in that I get paid for it.
I saw Hunter Sunday. It was a good day! He is doing well and likes school, especially Orchestra. He is learning the violin which was what he wanted to learn. He was very talkative and seemed happy. WE even shared some stories about Jennifer which always makes my heart glad. Jennifer was there with us. Hunter is roller blading to school ( about 1/2 mile) - He has got such good balance and thinks it's "no big deal"....guess he hasn't seen his grandma attempt to roller blade (just kidding) :)
It's dark already (7:30)...I hate that it is getting dark so early...I eat more and sleep more in the winter. It rained today off & on which certainly made it cooler, however it was humid this afternoon. The kids at school complained! Well, enough of my woes.....
Life is okay today - trying not to think about the holidays....one day @ a time, right?

The days are getting shorter. I have never been asked to serve on a jury but I would love to someday.

Awesome that he is learning violin!!! Such a complicated and challenging instrument but young minds are taught so much easier than older ones. Plus, it is an instrument that can be played solo. Yes, it is time for change of season...a welcome relief in Florida heat but also a sad time in our special circumstances when the holidays can bring so much pain and longing.
I spent a whole day at jury duty about a year ago. It was a civil case, not criminal, but still interesting when we were seated and got to listen. We were in and out, in and out with careful instructions not to discuss the case...LOL...we discussed nothing but the case during every recess. We spent all day and late in the afternoon the plaintiff decided to drop the case. It was a good decision as we had decided he was a greedy jerk with the nerve to sue a church for building a playground next to his property and infringing on about three feet of his land. It took them several months to move their fence and since his property had been classified as "commercial" he felt like they should reimburse him for money he might have lost if someone had wanted to purchase his property at the time the fence was on it...nobody had ever shown any interest in buying the land, but wanted the church to pay because it "could have happened"...we were like, uhmmmm Nope. So for the day we were rewarded with a $15 check, not kidding. But at least it turned out well and as much as I didn't want to serve jury duty and as hard as I fought to get out of it, if it had actually been given to us to render a verdict I would have been happy to have participated in doing the right thing.
P.S. So good to hear from you...you have always been very good to me.
Hunter is growing up, this new situation must be doing very well for him. Music kept me out of trouble in high school and my daughter in middle school.
