trying to be ecowise

I get coffee at the local cafe nearly every day. That's a lot of paper cups, and plastic lids.

So I decided to bring my mug today - and will going forward to be a little more "green."

The cafe staff loved it too! :-)

Should be cheaper. Starbucks large black coffee is about $3. If I bring my mug in, it is a refill and costs $0.55.

It's not only more ecowise, a mug feels better in my hands and on my lips, too.

I have come to the point where I am making small changes to decrease my carbon footprint and also be more resource prudent. My car is a hybrid but I'll walk to my haircut on Saturday. I recycle as much as I can. and I try not to use my lights so much. I try not to buy myself meat too often and eat mostly plants. I think I could probably transfer my electric consumption though to a renewable plan. That's the next project!

my brother used to do it all the time when he lived in Venice Beach - so he came over and said "you could do that too."

I used to be quite proud of my carbon footprint. Then I moved to the country with need to drive EVERYwhere and inherited 3 children. . . With the much needed housing upgrade in place, this particular month finds me feeling like a consumer glutton without means to so much as the means to recycle cardboard.

Thank you for your conscience.
