Trying
I'm with the elder. Father Chrysostom
and Mr. George, all of us are watching the superbowl together. I am feeling childlike, enjoying the game with all the goodies and drinks we're having. I must remember though tomorrow I will be expected to conduct service. I'm not in a comfort zone about it yet. I can't avoid or shirk the responsibility or slip up the work.
I'll do it.
i find within myself, with the reminder because of that thought to be on top of things, that I have a LOT of energy. It makes me feel like I stick out like a sore thumb here or anywhere and I need to above all be aware of that and my responsibility. It's the kind of pendulum swinging energy that without cognition is probably the force that makes my illness peak its head out from under the covers.
i wonder though if it's also an adult male type energy thing. That men have to contend with it while putting the inner child away in order to muster the focus for our work in life?
sending peace. Back to the game.

hyper-active female here. at 70 i finally have the energy levels of a normal teenager. those energy levels are hard on a geriatric physique, but at least they are more manageable. yes, it makes me far more noticeable than i often wish i was, but ? ? ? what's a freakasaurus gonna do? trying to repress all that energy turns me into a walking mount vesuvius, strong enough to implode geezer bones.
put away my inner child? she's the one who has the best ideas on how to safely channel all that energy. with gentle guidance, she can blend delightfully well into stuffy old geezer shows.
Luke 18:15-17
English Standard Version
15 Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 17 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
Thanks Arfie, beautiful passage. I’m a freakasoros right next to you:).
