Trying
The past few days have been uneventful. A layer of depression has set in and I've just been going through the motions. Sleep has been horrible, waking up too many times each night has left me feeling exhausted all day. Today was day 4 of 6 straight days working, so knowing that I don't get a break tends to leave me mentally exhausted even before it happens. I've tried to talk to my department manager about splitting up my days off and giving more space, but with so many things happening and so many things that I need to do, it hasn't been possible. And I haven't mentioned it in a few months because I know that she is stressed out as well.
My department manager started at my store in March/April? (It's been hard to tell time this year anymore. Last week could have been last year). From her first day, she and I clicked. It was like I had known her forever. So we freely discuss work and personal things. She has called me her right hand woman many times. There's a level of trust between us that I've never felt with a supervisor. She tells me so many things that I probably don't need or should know. Anyway, the last few weeks, the schedule has been rushed to put together. So even this week she scheduled me earlier than I am able to work, but I was able to switch with someone else. And she admitted that she hadn't paid that much attention. With previous supervisors, that situation could be a headache. With this manager, it was a "okay, yeah sorry about that, switching is fine". She does make my job easier, I feel.
I know that I am overthinking, which is making it worse, but I am not sure what brought on this depression. Could be a combo of different things. My anxiety was high for awhile with everything at work and a few other things that when it all slowed down, I crashed head first instead of scaling back.
Now if only I could get some energy and just a little motivation to even put laundry away (I hate laundry).

Writing it out helps.
Remind yourself of all you are doing, and give yourself time to relax.
