Trip to USC

My trip to USC went great! They've done a lot with the school since I've been there... they built a new student center, for one. I didn't get to see all the campus, but I did see a bunch of the places I used to hang out, worked, and studied. I used to work at one of the libraries on campus in the computer lab. I didn't go inside the library to see how it's changed. I guess I should have, just to compare. I guess I can do that next time I'm on campus when I'm here again. They were doing a lot of construction still, so I know that there are going to be more changes when I go again. The next time I come here to LA, there should be a train to USC, so I won't even have to be driven there, I could go on my own. Of course, it's better with someone, but I could meet someone there for example. I found out one of my friends was just in town last weekend, and had I known, I would have told him to come hang out. He lives in Las Vegas and goes to law school there. It's funny how everyone is still in school. My friend that I met at the Coffee Bean on Thursday just finished school, and we met another girl there who is researching schools for her Ph.D. We went to high school with her, so it's crazy to see how over 10 years later people are still working for their degrees. I just got my bachelors and said it's enough for now. I might go back for my Master's when I get better, but I'm not sure yet. I have to see if it's a good financial decision with how much I already owe.
Yeah, I owe a lot of money. I'm making tiny payments now (like, seriously tiny... $32 or something like that) to get Sallie Mae off my back. When I was working full time and could afford it, I was paying like $500 a month. That's a payment on a new Mercedes. Maybe not their nicest models, but you could still get a Mercedes for that price. And I have to pay it back over 20 years or something like that. I owe like $50,000 or something close to it. USC was not cheap, but when I went there that was the cost of one year. I got 4 and a half years for the price of one, is how I like to look at it. It makes me feel a bit better. One of the reasons I owe so much though, is because my mom didn't do the financial aid paperwork. She was having trouble with the IRS and didn't want to report her income. Oh well, it's in the past and there's nothing I can do now to change it. If I could go back, I would have tried to go to a community college for the first couple of years and then transfer up to USC. Oh well, the things I know now. I didn't know I was going to have a breakdown.
I went by a couple places I used to live as well today. They haven't changed much. One of the houses by USC looks almost the same, just a slightly different paint job and drapes. The apartment I used to live in looks exactly the same. Last night I had a dream that I had to spend 250 million dollars and so I went back to the house I used to live in with my dad and paid the guy that lived there $2.4 million to keep it in good condition. I didn't want to move in, just like how right now I wouldn't want to move in there, but I just wanted to make sure it was taken care of. I want my dad's memory to live on through the stuff that he planted there. It was cool to be able to see that last week... I'm just glad that the house is in good shape. I would have been devastated had it been in disrepair. I was sad at first that the roses were all trimmed, then I realized it's winter and they just pruned them like you are supposed to. I was sad that they were taking care of it by mistake!
Food today was good... I was in my calorie range and in my range for all my nutrients. I had toast and jam for breakfast, tacos for lunch, and burritos for dinner. I went to King Taco again today, which has some of the most awesome tacos. I had 5 little mini-tacos. Mexican style tacos are on tiny corn tortillas, just meat, salsa, cilantro and onion. No lettuce and tomato like you get at Taco Bell. As you probably know, Taco Bell is not real Mexican food. I once saw a sign there that said “Mexican Inspired Food” and that's probably the best way for them to say it. Mood today was great... I'm back to feeling good, and I was busy today. I started getting depressed for a bit, staying in bed, but got out of bed and had some coffee and hopped on the computer. I felt better once I started doing stuff. And I get to see my Nana on Wednesday! I'm so excited! I get to see her one last time before I go :) Sleep last night was good, and stress today was low. I'm just looking forward to my last week here!
