Tribute to my Nana

Nana, you will be missed by all
You shaped souls towards good
Always there for those in need
Of love, kindness, and food.
 
You taught the young what was best
You brought wonderful children into this world
And loved them as much as the rest.
 
You stood up for what was right
Not backing away from a fight
When it came time for you to stand
You stood for what you knew was good.
 
You were the pillar of our family
Holding everyone together easily.
Picking us all up when we fell
And drying the tears that we cried.
 
I remember the day my father died
Even though he was your son, you shielded me
You were the strength that kept me going
And hid me from what I didn't need to see.
 
Nana, I loved you and you will always be in my heart
Even though death has taken you apart.
I know you aren't in pain anymore
And now on eagle's wings you soar.
