Trees all gone

Well three more days work on the garden cutting the remaining hedges to manageable height and trimming the trees before they brought down the phone line!
With the front of the house completely cleared of trees the openness and light is amazing.  It doesnt feel so claustrophobic any more.  People at the shop in the village are remarking how well it is looking (and it is far from finished) one person even said that they hadnt realised there was a house behind the trees.  They made me feel like the old lady who lived in the woods!
As I said  before it is a project we had discussed and I think it needed doing even more so after Wilf was gone because it seemed that it was closing in on me and isolating me - even if it is  only opening me up to passing traffic.
There is still a stretch of hedge to be removed on the lower part of the garden between me and my neighbour and we will erect a fence in its place.  That will get done on his return from holiday in a few weeks.
So it is nearly done and at minimal cost because of all my great friends (and great neighbour) who have pitched in and done it all for me (and  for Wilf because they would have done  it for him if he were here). I went out yesterday and bought myself a new lounger chair so that when the weather is good I can sit and watch the world go by.
