Traumatized...from work....

Lately, I have been thinking a LOT about, and becoming depressed about, what happened to me on the job I left in April this year.  I was bullied and tormented there for a long time, and had no back-up.  I don't know how I did it.

I am beginning to think I was traumatized by it.  Recently I met this nice woman near me, seems very sincere.  Maybe a new friend?   Anyway, wouldn't you know it, last night I had a dream that she stabbed me in the back and couldn't be trusted.

Also I do side jobs; and recently I said something to an employer that I shouldn't have.  I think I am so used to being treated like crap that I am sabotaging myself, and don't trust others.

I am going to talk to my therapist about it this afternoon.  I think working there traumatized me.  I don't feel good anymore.  Some people can deal with the torment at work; I guess I am sensitive and just can't.  I wish there were more nice people out there.  I'd hate to give up on humanity.

Hi I'm sorry to hear that you went through that. I think it is good that you are going to talk to your therapist. I was traumatized on one of my jobs in the past. I was held up at gun point and robbed. I have PTSD from that and some other traumatizing events that I went through. I was abused for many years growing up. I know how hard it can be to trust people sometimes. Hang in there and don't give up on the chance to make new friends and meet people. Just because there are bad people in the world it doesn't mean all the good ones are gone.

I joined this site because of work bullying. I completely understand being traumatized by coworkers if you want to chat. I don't trust much either.
I also understand getting labeled negative for complaining. The bullies always manage to make themself look in the right. You don't have to tolerate being run over and put down at work.

Hi Maria, sorry this has reared it's ugly head. They put you through soo much hell. I think it's a good idea to talk with your therapist & try to start the healing process. I do believe in Karma & hope that they get what they deserve! Gentle Hugs, Brooke

I'm so glad you got away from that toxic environment. I know how you suffered but you won't ever be there again. Just shows how these workplace traumas can affect us so deeply. Now you need to process what happened. Fortunately you have access to therapy. Make good use of it and I hope you can put those nasty people behind you. Try not to be too stressed about the dream. It's probably more about your past rather than this new friend. I like to believe there are some good one so out there. They're just hard to find.

So sorry that you feel traumatized by what happened at work, hopefully the therapist can help.
Like Brook said Karma will get them in the end, it always does!! I'm sure that you will find a friend out there that is nice, they do exist!!
Hugs, Jean
