transitions between alone time

I am challenged to transition from time alone - doing something I enjoy

and then move on to time with others - where I am thinking about others' feelingsĀ

and just social stuff.

I love to be with other people..so much so I find it hard to 'go it alone.'

When I am engaged in my alone time - and 'into it' - I can get a lot done

and yet -- then I am pulled back into being social... which is a big shift of gears

and to me it's like getting into a cold pool. I read in a Psychiatric Times article that some

have a hard time with 'transitions' - changing activities - and so I just wanted to put that idea out there.

Time to put on my trunks and just get out there.. :)

Go ahead and put on those trunks! Then, go for it! Why not? You sound like you're getting yourself out there and you should be proud of that. I hope all the best for you. Yey, you!.:)

Transitions, in general, are hard for me, whether I am shifting gears from hungry to fed or solitude to socializing. My hyper-vigilance wants predictability. Even the smallest changes for the better can feel like a threat. If my hyper-vigilance had its way, I would spend the rest of my life in stasis.

My hyper-vigilance ain't getting its way today. As you put it, "Time to put on my trunks and just get out there.. :)"
