tough week
This has been a tough week for keeping up with things. Monday truly and honestly wore me out. Not just the neuro psych, but the whole day. I almost didn't go to bible study, but in the long run decided that would be less taxing than staying home with DH and the kids with their mood that day. lol
The neuro was less than helpful, unfortunately. Seriously, I just think it's too soon for me to get anything there. I'm in the middle of changes with meds with my PCP and he should have had me wait. So I go back on June 8. In the meantime, I'm searching for another PCP that works intentionally with CFS and Fibro.
Yesterday I saw the psychologist involved with my potential abdominal surgery. She wasn't much nicer, though she tried to be I'm sure. She too was sitting here asking me what on earth I was thinking to add one more thing (the surgery) to my load of things to do. Yeah, I know. Since that surgery wouldn't be until autumn at the earliest, I was thinking I'd have time for the disability to kick in. Or I can take time off from classes. Whichever is necessary. She seemed to think I should be on disability! Too bad she can't be my main doc either. lol She did tell me to start seeing a counselor regularly, so I've set an appt for that.
Tuesday I woke with a migraine, but got it under control fairly quickly. I've upped the meds the doc gave me last Friday (gabapentin) and yesterday I was just very tired. I stayed home both days, but am back in the office today. I have tons of meetings and some basic work that needs to get done, so figured I better make it in.
My next doc appointments are Monday with the surgeon and nutritionist for the wl surgery. That'll be all day for the most part, so at best I'll work at home a half day.

Yeah, the gabapentin will make you tired (and then some). Wow, it sounds like you just have all kinds of things going on at the moment. I\'m sorry the neurologist wasn\'t much help. I hate wasting time with people who aren\'t helpful. Hold your head up. Many blessings.
Thanks, hon! I\'ve been taking the gabapentin at night and it\'s helping me get to sleep apparently. So far I haven\'t seen an increase in grogginess, so I think this level is probably a good one. We\'ll see.
Sounds like in the midst of it all, some things are coming together. So glad you are getting in to see a counselor. That is really important to have that support and another person\'s eyes on you to help you sort through things. I guess you are on the look out for another PCP, I hope you find one you can connect with. And thank goodness the Gaba-p is helping you sleep. That is a blessing in itself!!! Hang in. Seems that you are moving forward despite a not so great time with neuro.... Sending good thoughts.....
Thank you, Maris!
