too much

did you ever feel the trauma is so much that your brain cant even comprehend it, absorb it, didnt know WHAT to do with it?! part of what i didnt tell you all about my dad's leaving, is that my mom claimed some monies he owed to her from over the years for maintenance.  now both my mom and my dad are dignified, intelligent, decent people, who have always maintained a very good relationship. my dad had told her about a year ago to get "stuff sorted out before he leaves", so she went to a lawyer to help.well, my step mom nearly went off her head, in the last week before they left nothing had transpired so my mom persued the issue, and the step mom went bollistic. to the point that she wanted back gifts they had given to ME!! they could shove their gifts, it wasnt about that, it was just very humiliating and hurtful.the last week they wouldnt come to my house, they didnt see the kids, nothing. we went to say goodbye the night before they left. it was very strained. my dad is quite far in his illnesses, he pretends he's not, but i can see he is. she wrote an email to my sisters and me, telling us what a terrible thing it was that happened to them before they left and it was the worst week she'd had with my dad in 24 years, and he was very distressed..... HELLOOOOO - my child is dead. yes! DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD!!!!!   #$%$^&*!  my other 3 children are CRYING and traumatised, their sister died in April 2008, their father went to live far away in December 2008, and now their "pa" (grandpa) has left.  %^*&!  what about USSSS!!!i have lost my child, my other children are suffering, i am sick (thats another story), and my dad is GONE!!! and she had the worst week in 24 years because she had to pay out some MONEY!!!  boo hoo, oh shame.  she wrote to us about "her story".  she has even asked me ONCE, NOT ONCE, how i feel about my dad leaving the country to go live with HER family, WITH HER kids.  she has not asked how I AM DOING, how MY KIDS ARE DOING!! and we arent doing okay! not by a long shot!  i have been very ill, i dont even want to go too much into it. i guess suffice it to say for now, that there is damage to the hypothalamus and pituatary, which is not producing the hormones it should be. the question is, is there a tumor. and also, full replacement risks cancer.but in the meantime i can barely function, sleeping chronically. i am tired, i am hurting, i am sad. i am missing jessy very very sorely. her FIRST angel day is coming up, on 24th April.  i want to scream and scream and scream out to the world, "MY CHILD IS DEAD AND I CAN'T BEAR IT !!"   have i regressed to the beginning phases of grief? i dont know what is going on. all i do know is that my heart and brain are FULL FULL FULL.  of pain for jessy, missing and longing for her;  for khaely and her bipolar and being called upon 24/7 for her needs;  and jarod, 9 yrs old, ADHD, who is a sad little boy, traumatised and doing all that i humanly can to be there for him and encourage him with his school and karate. and 5 year old tali, who suffers severe exceman, which no doctor can help anymore. they say she cant have anymore cortisone. and i am aching all over, and my emotions are explosive, and i DO cry. and my dad and all this crap, i just dont know how to incorporate it into my thoughts and brain and heart. for now its just giving me anger and anxiety attacks all the time, and seeping into my dreams every night. HELP!!love jan

Hi Jan. All I can say is take one breath at a time. Don\'t try to work it all out. You need to take care of YOU. I know the kids need you and you tsay strong for them, but who is looking out for you? Book in a massage or spa or something relaxing if you can. Rest when you can and block out thoughts of your step mother and anyone else who makes you angry. I wish I could be there to hug you tight and make you a cup of tea and talk about our kids till we fall down laughing with happy memories. Charlotte.

You have to take care of YOU... no one else will... try & find time - even if it is just 10 minutes every day to relax & do some deep breathing... don\'t try to process everything going on all at once - you never will be able to & stay sane... what makes it doubly hard is Jessy\'s one year anniversary coming up - your emotions are all over the place with that HUGE event. I don\'t know what to tell you except I am here if you need me & to take each day as it comes & keep putting one foot in front of the other. But PLEASE take care of YOUR health - no one else will do it for you.

Your plate is full...the advice of taking care of yourself is valid...it all collapses w/o you. You MUST get the pressures of yor DAD, step-mother & mom out of your head--for now and focus on you and your children...is there any help other family members or an agency or church can do to help you with your children\'s needs or meals or babysitting so you can rest?
Take care of you,
Ann
PS: I understand the anxiety of the upcominhg anniversary date...try to have your mind calm down.
It is hard...my advice is this...I was so anxious with the approaching date...I feared it, in fact...the unknown...the reminders. When the day arrived, it was not as bad as I thought...in reflection I said to myself...\"What difference is this date than any other? How could I miss him more today than any other day?\" I do not know why, but it did comfort me somehow.
Take care.
Ann

My heart aches for you and I wish I could take all the pain away from you. I am so sorry that you are going through so much right now. You need to concentrate on taking care of yourself and don\'t worry about your step mom and dad right now. Take it one day at a time. I am here for you my dear friend if you need to talk. I will keep you in my prayers.

Oh Janice, my friend you haven\'t regressed......for what you are going through it\'s normal. Our brains do shut down when we are faced with horrific trauma such as the ones you are going through. It is a defense mechanism, and it\'s really a blessing. Try and not let the stepmonster get to you. I know that that can be easier said than done, but she is clueless!! It\'s obvious she is a self absorbed woman, and I think you need to just let her go. I know you have to keep some contact in regards to your dad, but I\'d just take a step back for a bit and breathe. You HAVE to TAKE care of YOU in order to care for everyone else!! I know that the first angel date is a real rollercoaster, and I found that the anxiety of it approaching was much worse than the actual day! AnnM was right....it ended up being another day in all reality. I didn\'t miss Heather any more or less than I did the day before or the day before that. You know I\'m here for you anytime you need anything. Take the time to do something for YOU, YOU deserve it, and need it!! Sending you lots of love, hugs, and keeping you in my prayers. I really hope you begin to feel better. Stress doesn\'t help our physical conditions at all.

You definitely have a full plate to deal with. You need to take care of yourself first and foremost. I hear you and I offer my sincere sympathy and help. Each day is a challenge and I cannot guarantee it will get better soon but it will get less hard to deal with. Take care of your physical health without which it will be worse. Sending strength and love. Love and hugs Cathy
