Today's visit to Rheumatologist

The support from my wonderful DS friends helped me so much - I am feeling far more positive again. You people are amazing - in spite of the big problems you have yourselves, you can still reach out to others. I can cope with everything else but the resulting pain from my stupid fall tipped me over the edge for a little while.
Today I saw my Rheumatologist and got the results of a Bone Density Scan which showed I have Osteoppaenia, which is not as bad as Osteoporosis, thank goodness. He is still waiting to hear from the Urologist whether Methotrexate would have any effect on the Kidney tumour - I hope the Urologist gets back to him soon - it's pretty poor not to have responded, I think. I'm not really worried that the MTX med is put off for a few weeks. There's another med he wants to use for the bone density but I need to have a dental check-up and any problems attended to before he'll start that medication. Hmmm - I know there's quite a bit to be done. At least it's making me fix my teeth - no choice now. LOL.
I am so lucky. My  Rheumatologist is such a caring and clever man. He asked me today if I would be the patient to have bones scanned while he is delivering a seminar to other Rheumatologists in a couple of week's time. I said yes very quickly. It should be an interesting night.
Tomorrow I'll see the Opthamologist. At the moment it's one doctor after another but I feel very fortunate that scans picked up the kidney tumour and that my local Optometrist has referred me on to the Eye Specialist re possible glaucoma which could be from the Prednisone I've been taking for Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I am blessed to have found this DS site. Without you all I would be feeling very alone - there isn't anything like it here.
Love, hugs and better days for everyone is my wish
