today's journal
I have realized that in part I need to do what is right for me - and maybe not
what the iconographic thing might dictate. I believe in ideals and standards but
also I have gone down a slippery slope in trying to push on myself those ideals and ideas
of what "I should be." It's nothing new maybe, but it's something I forget time and again
because situations inflame and require the 'right answer' and I am not always able enough to parse out the answer right for me.
I realize also, when bad feelings happen, that it might be a good idea to change my perspective -
like if I am in a chair and someone in front of me is blocking my view - to shift positions so I can see better and deal with the issue from another maybe more manageable angle. The feeling might not go away - but it might be a lot easier to deal with. This I kind of learned from a therapist long ago - and the notion just resurrected in my mind yesterday while dealing with some frightening pain.
I don't know why I need to write this stuff down - but it kind of helps me - that I have given myself some time and place to think about feelings and things- and then hopefully I can put it to bed and do something else with my day.

I don't know if this makes a whole lot of sense. It's just was 'soup' ing around in my mind right now.
On to the day. :)
One of the all too many problems I have with my own "Ideals and standards" is that life so seldom provides a clear platform for those ideals and standards. How do I ply my ideals of kindness for all while I am listening to a stigma-based *They* rant? Is the greater kindness a solid slap upside the head? Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind?
Me duele a la cabeza. . .
Writing ^it^ out helps me sort through the confusion. . . Life sure do get messy.
