Today
I decided not to post every day here as I was but to use it for significant occasions, and today is one such.
I sat at lunch with tears running down my cheeks, mum didn't notice and made a comment about something I hadn't done, I snapped and said I needed some space and I filled up a bin in the back garden. I've done a few other jobs and I'm so sad, the tears won't stop, when will this pain end?
I was once a prisoner now as a carer I feel as imprisoned as before, except there's no date given when I'll be free. I feel huge anxiety about most things and I just want the pain to go away

As a care giver, you have to put your feelings aside when the elderly person speaks negatively and/or mean. You have to give yourself positive encouragement inside to help you remain calm. Those tears are healing.
It's really hard because the way the system is towards the elderly who want to remain independent is not always easy to work with daily.
You are not alone. The pain that you are experiencing does go away. Keep taking care of you, too!
