today

for some reason, while sitting with my parents today, the wisdom came to me that we all come at life

with our different histories, experiences and different motivations and it was important to me that I didn't project

what the next person was all about. I find that there's this engine within me that is 'all go-go' and 'fight'

and I can be so self inflicting of that energy or turn it outwards at others but I try to be conscious of it

and stay as measured and clear as I can.. I guess I felt comfortable with myself today - and I reached out

to my friend the Abbess just to say hi and give her thanks for being a friend. I bought myself a treat of lemonade and candied ginger and now I'll relax on the couch for a bit. I aim to harness or encourage that energy to good use... Peace to you guys! :-)

I don't know why I feel so frozen with indecision but to encourage myself and set my expectation for life, I reckon in whatever direction I endeavour in life professionally, I will have my own experience of it. Rather than feel crestfallen
about moments that don't seem to measure up to someone else's or that seem 'out of place' and very effortful- my own wrangling of my energies, focus, determination and development of expertise will come in my own shape and form and cost. So often when faced
with the messiness of emotions of trying to achieve something I have felt those feelings invalidated what I hoped to achieve.

Giving up the notion that it is possible for me to know what other folks are going through might have been the single most important sanity tool I've found in 40 odd years of psychotherapy. I save allot of wear and tear on my ego by asking rather than AssUMing. More important, asking has gotten me some GREAT story hours. People can be intriguing when I let them.

May your awareness grow to unimagined heights. Lemonade and candied ginger sound like top shelf rocket fuel to me.

thanks Arfie. I am really troubled today. I so appreciate that you're out there, on the other side of this ethernet sitting at a screen, looking at the words you're typing out. :-) Thanks for your message. peace!

It all comes out in the wash
Chill still in the will
