to be self responsible but to not be alone

This past week at, one point, I was struggling with myself to be something better, and yet ultimately

I felt like 'half a person.' It made me think about what a friend posted as his motto "We each have one wing, and together we can fly."

I know we need to be self responsible and cope with whatever is ailing us. To be able to connect and not be alone in our lives - coming together to make that whole person with 'two', is something I am realizing is really important.

I am so grateful for my friends here on DS.org and in life. So often I have had anxiety about 'coming together' but I realize it is such a gift.

Isolating is one of my meaner psych symptoms. Like it or knot, I am human and humans are a gregarious species. We need our packs every bit as much as a buffalo needs its herd and a bird needs its flock.

Tending to my human bonding needs is an important part of being self-responsible in my twisted brain.
