Time to Ponder

Of all the themes I could catigorize this under, why positive.  Today my husband lost his job.  He is the sole provider for our family.  I should be out of my mind with worry today.  I should be in tears and fear run a muck inside, but I'm not.   This is a time of reflection.  A time for looking deep within ourselves and figure out what is REALLY important.  Praise God we are all healthy, happy and together.  Praise God my kids go to a good school.  Praise God I love my husband.  Those are just some of the things that are important.   It's time to ponder about so many things.  What are the essentials of life?  Do we spend too much with mindless, endless stuff that seem to clogg our lives and detour us into thinking these things are important.  Hum?  Time to ponder and pray.  Another job will come.  Maybe not making the same money as before, but we will get by.  After all, isn't that what really matters?

Not moments before I read your post, I typed out the following:
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Vs. 11 Not that I speak in respect of want; for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Before I type things like this I pray over my open KJV Bible and ask the Lord to guide me as I prey for the people in Daily Strength. This is where He led me. I feel very much lead to share it with you. God bless you and your family. Invite the Lord to sit with you for a while and just visit with Him. Ask Him what you can do to bring praise and glory to Him.

Steven,

Thank you for the scripture. Scripture is a great way to strengthen ourselves. I pray for the same blessings to you and your family.
