Time, patience, love and faith

In no way can I possibly explain what happened this past weekend.  I know that our mutual friend worked, talked, prayed and did everything possible to help.  God is all powerful and I have no idea why we were blessed but I do want you to know that this can be you as well.  God moves in strange and mysterious ways.  We have no knowledge of how or why He performs miracles but that he does.  I want to encourage and give you support.  I love and care for each of you but certainly God's love is tremendously greater than any love we, as humans, can understand.  Have faith and hope.
This truly was a miraculous weekend.  My thoughts and feelings are all over the place so please forgive me as my writing will more than likely not be coherent.  ES decided that we could come to get GD at their home.  I was very apprehensive as I approached their door.  I had no idea how this would go or what would happen.  GD met me at the door so I assumed she would just walk out with me and we would leave.  Her brother and sister then came running to me to give hugs and kisses (the 2 younger GC live with their mother in another townhouse in the same complex) which was heaven.  I then saw ES looking around the corner from the Living Room into the Entry.  Something inside of me told me to go in and at least say hello.  After all, things couldn't get too much worse than what they have been.  We actually had a very calm conversation.  There was no hostility, no questions, no apologies, etc.  I realized this was not the time for those things if I want a relationship.  When we went to the car, all 3 GC accompanied us to see DH and had lots of hugs and kisses for him too.  He is still grinning from ear to ear.  GD and we had a wonderful weekend together with lots of things to do - playground, kick ball, cooking, needlework, making beads into jewelry, church, etc.

The time to take her home yesterday came much too quickly.  Took her back to ES, we had a nice conversation about general things again.  I felt it was important to keep things simple, upbeat and courteous.  It worked. ( I really feel that our EC don't want to be questioned, belittled, quarreled, ashamed, etc.  I think a lot depends on how we act toward them and may be surprised how they respond.  They may feel very trapped in their current situation but don't know how to get out of it.  I am no expert but I would suggest a very informal, non threatening atmosphere is where to start.)  I asked ES about seeing the kids more often and he said it would be fine with us.  So we are looking forward to seeing the kids and having them for weekends or days off from school.  All in all, I am flying with the clouds.  I do have to remember this is only one baby step and who knows for sure what will happen in the future.  Things could go either way as we examine the past and present.  However, I choose to remain in steadfast prayer and hope for things to move ahead in baby steps without any pressure from either side.  This is just our experience and I am sure each of us have our own situation and way to handle things.  My heart and prayers are with all of you and for ourselves as well.  God bless.

That is wonderful news. I am so happy for you. I will continue to pray that things progress as you hope they will. I agree that informal meetings where you\'re not expecting an apology or explanation or anything is probably the best way to move forward. It\'s wonderful to see God\'s work in action.

We\'re still a work in progress but I can only pray that God will keep helping and guiding us. Have no idea what may happen for the holidays but one day at a time. Just praising our Father that He has helped us this far.
