time for change
I have been writing about stress when coming here to DS. Today, I went through some of the most hurtful times ever.
One of my nephews came over, rare thing for him, and just ranted and raved at Mom in some manic way I have not seen. So angry this guy and so much pointed at Mom.
He is ill, no doubt. So, I just watched and was quiet so there wasnt more fuel to keep him going. Mom was so upset and struggled to keep her cool. She is not shy with words and can handle herself. But I saw so much stress and confusion on her face and in her eyes. Her BP was way high after.
My Dad died last thanksgiving so Mom is alone in this grandparent role. It is horrible to see the stress my sister and her family thrust toward my Mom now that Dad is gone. Sure, she was awful in ways to all previously. And over board generous during other times. However, nobody sees the huge changes in her health and how there are more symptoms of dementia than ever. Beating her up verbally is not going to help anyone.
I want to tell this family of mine to tread lightly. I usually stay out of her relationships with others but now that I live here and see day to day what happens, it is hard to be quiet. Also, since Mom is losing control to age etc.. she is really picky with me. I could just see telling the nephew to be more careful with his moods and direct hashing out of her conversations with him. It would twist and be my fault for causing trouble. Nonsense right?? But it happens.
I will check in here again soon since it is the 4th and this is my only place to vent. Anyone who wants to comment about how to address my unstable family and their abuse toward Mom, will be so welcome to my journal. Thanks
