Time for a new post!

I can't believe I haven't posted in my journal since January 4!!! Pretty bad, but I will start again. My husband is recovering well now from his surgery.. the recovery period had a lot of ups and downs, which we went through together and became a lot closer. Even in long-term marriages we learn something about our mates when we are put in new situations.   I really enjoyed being the caretaker, though it was hard at times, I felt good about being able to help him as he has helped me and stood by me through thick and thin over the years.  Real love goes pretty deep and when things are painful, that's when you really realize it. Giving to him instead of putting my time in at the casinos has been a positive change. :] I haven't been making any "donations" lately, and I feel proud of that.  Thanks to DS and some renewed determination. Hugs to all,Smokeygirl

Good to hear from you....glad hubby is doing well...

The experience of caring for someone really brings both people together...both the giving and receiving of care are so meaningful.

Spending time on things that are worthwhile is so much better than wasting that precious time and energy mindlessly punching a button on a machine for hrs on end. I feel sad when I think of how much of my time and energy I squandered that way!

Hugs to my sistah....
Love, Dianne

You are right - - - we were wasting time - hours and hours of precious time. Hope you are doing well,

I couldn\'t agree more. I\'ve said many times that I regret the wasted time more than the wasted money.
Glad your man is doing well; he\'s lucky (some don\'t like this word) to have you, so I guess I should say he\'s blessed.

oHi there: You know I think that anytime we do something for others or a community we become the \"real me\'s\" we have wanted to be. Truly my belief is that most people would rather be kind and generous than anything else. Some just don\'t know how or what to do.
When we are \"our best selves\"...self goes out the window and I think that when we let go of ego and outcomes our lives are better and brighter.
My philosopy lesson for the day lol. Sorry, didn\'t mean to be too intense...just understand why you feel so good. Keep it up and enjoy your day.
Blessings
Mary

The time was always the thing I regretted most - time with my kids - family - friends. So glad the madness has been arrested. It is good to be normal. I like normal. Hugs Suzi
