Thursday Morning, a time for gratitude.

Anybody up for a game of take the trash down to the curb before the trash picker upper dudes get here?  No???? Me neither.
Feeling a little better......I finished the book "Joshua" last night.......I miss it already.  Ever read something so good and then miss it when it ends?  It infused me with hope, made me think..........Father Joseph Girzone retired from the church.  He was in such a ramped up exhaustive state that his physician told him he was inches away from a stroke.  Not long after, he wrote the book "Joshua", this was back in 1980.  Interestingly enough he published it on his own........word got around and it became an international best seller.  (It is no secret what God can do..........!) Father Girzone wrote a second book, hope I can run into it soon........I recently found a used book place that sells books for 69 cents each.........love deals!
Reading this book reminded me of things.........about being still and quiet.  I noticed that reading this book gave me peace, that daily feel good that I had somehow gotten all tangled up.  Ever feel like your life is a lot of tangled up bedsheets.........you want smooth and cool and comfy...........but between illness and pain and general frustration somehow you can't get the combination right for smooth rides into sleep?
That's how I get.........a lot of times it's because I'm dwelling on and focusing on the wrong things.  Reading this book reminded me of the importance of being still and quiet.  Of not only talking to God, telling him all my secrets........but the importance of staying on the line with him to listen........God has things to say to us.........and if we're not listening we can miss out on so many of the best bits..........God needs time to talk to us too..........and we can't hear him if we're not listening. When I'm not listening my life feels like a big tangled up mess of bedsheets........and there I am all gawky and uncoordinated.....with shoulders, elbows, knees and toes all fighting to get out of the shell of poky cotton.........like a big old silly feisty cranky bird.  Peace is better........so much better.
Thanks for slowing me down Lord..........for reminding me how much I need to be quiet.....still and silent.  To listen to your voice........to see and appreciate your many gifts that surround me.
I slept well last night........got up and showered.  Ahhhh, feel so refreshed.  I got up and made jello......banana pudding........and baked a quiche.  My second one in ten days.
Good update from Sam about his house. Sam negotiated an agreement with the 12 year old boy & the boy's family........regarding the vandalism done to Sam's home.  This boy came over while Sam was working (last week) and sprayed red spray paint all over the whole back of his home.  Walls, windows, grass......it was a serious mess.  They spent this Monday side by side together working on repairing the damage.  Brush stroke by brush stroke. Sam purchased the paint but the boy is also going to have to earn money to pay Sam for every $30 bucket of paint.  As well as the other products Sam had to get to do the job.  It reminds me of something Mark Twain would write about.........hopefully this will be a solution that will keep the boy out of mischief and things will genuinely improve long term.
In other news, Sam let me know they have decided not to expand the business into a new market at this time, so he will not be moving away.  It is exciting to have opportunities and choices, but sometimes the best choice is to stay put........and continue to find ways to make what you have better........and I think they feel at peace about it.  He seemed calm and happy so I'll take that as good and good.
Please take care, thanks for listening ya'll............oh yeah, I got a little trinket at a yard sale......and it is painting rainbows on my wall...........it looks like a round spiky sparkly mouse with whiskers........a silly thing really........it has a prism in it.......this tiny little one point five inch thing is generating several rainbows on my wall this morning........so pretty.  Best 25 cents I spent all week.  Reminds me of the movie Pollyanna...........do you know that film?  Making rainbows out of chandelier prisms?  Love to all, hugs......and prayers.

I felt peaceful just reading your reviewing of \"Joshua\". I look forward to taking your advice and sitting in the still, quiet presence of the Lord. I\'m so glad to hear Sam does not have to move - he sounds like a wise soul. I love prisms!!!! I was recently wishing I had one to make some rainbows for me - you\'ve inspired me to seek one out to buy.

Ruthie so glad Sam is not moving. Probably a good choice with the economy. I know you are doing the happy dance. :). Did I read that Sara is thinking of moving out your way?
Hubby put the garbage to the curb. I brought it back up after the garbage man came. Got the mail at the same time. Two more birthday cards in the mail. Yippee!!! I went to Target this morning. Got a few things...came home & went out into the pool for a half hour splashing around.
Never read the book Joshua. Who\'s the author? I love the old movie, Pollyanna! I must have watched that 10 time\'s over the years. Glad you slept better last night. Have a good evening. Gentle hugs & love.

I enjoyed reading about your book, \"Joshua\". I love finding a book that I feel so connected to like you, and when I am done reading it, I too miss my characters. Finding another book by the same author does help. I looked \"Joshua\" up on my Kindle and I will be able to \"borrow\" it. So thanks for that.
Hugs and love to you!

Sam is not moving! I am not moving....you are not moving! I think God wants us all to be STILL and listen. Don\'t you? We need to hide in our closets and pray. I remember the first time I read that in the Bible..I thought it odd. Then I realized what you were saying..that in order for us to hear what God has to say, we have to come out of ourselves, our pain, our plans and just hush....and listen. To His plan. Yep. I know what you are talking about.

Glad you loved you book! Wish I could read more. I used to love it so much. Now I can\'t retain anything but water....maybe things will change.

Love you kiddo! So happy Sam is staying put. Hope that youngster has learned his lesson!!! Seriously. He\'ll never forget this. Good job!
