Matthew came home Saturday night bringing his friend, Jeremiah, as well as Skye and Deion. It always does this mother’s heart good to see her children, especially when they come home to complete projects for us!  Now that Bill has moved out and sold the folks’ old house and lot, we are now forced to clear out the basement and storage shed.  On Sunday we let the guys go to it while we gals helped with Joanna’s baby shower at the community room in Mellette. Attendance at such an event in this area is usually 20-some people. It was a beautiful, warm day and 50 guests showed up!  We had to quickly set up another table and cut the cake into somewhat smaller pieces, but everyone seemed to have a good time.  Joanna’s baby girl will be exceedingly well-dressed! Speaking of well-dressed, I will take this opportunity to deplore the current maternity fashions.  I sewed many of my maternity outfits and they were really cute – flowy smock tops with pleats or ruffles.  These days it seems all expectant moms wear stretched out tee-shirts or long, elasticized dresses. Neither is flattering or attractive. I am not opposed to the enceinte form, but I don’t necessarily want to see a protuberant navel.
Back at the home place, the guys made pretty good progress but they will need another couple weekends to finish up.  They moved several trunks to my garage and Penny and I will need to go through them at some point.
Naturally, it took a couple days to recover from all the weekend activity even though I did not exert myself.  Tuesday evening, my physical therapist called to say that my insurance company denied coverage for my therapy.  I will be fighting that determination because this therapy was the first treatment that actually seemed to help. I just wish I had more energy to fight with!

I\'m so sorry your ins. co. has denied your therapy!! Goodness, we have so little going for us in the first place! Must they take the few things that actually help us? This really ticks me off!!

Sounds like you did have a busy weekend. Glad the shower went well! I must say that I agree with you about the maternity fashions. I don\'t like this \"tight\" belly showing style, at all. It is very unflattering and takes away the beauty of the pregnant woman. Being pregnant isn\'t a fashion statement. I do believe it is TV and the money makers that set these trends, then the population follows. I\'m not one of those. I chose to make my own decisions!!! I actually don\'t like the term \"baby bump\" either! I dunno! Maybe it\'s my age... LOL! Could be!!

Glad the guys made progress. That\' always a good thing.

So happy you felt well enough to journal! ox

Insurance companies suck! Fight hard, girl! PT is so good and you need it, I\'m sure. I\'m so glad all of your kids were there. That\'s incredible. I totally wish I could see the maternity clothes you sewed. I had ugly maternity clothes. I wish I would have known you when I was pregnant. You are a dear! Love you.
