throwing this out there
today at work I had to deal with my boss who I know doesn't like me so much. I try really hard to be positive, to do the right thing. To do my job quickly and to be as responsible as I can. She just doesn't like me. I do have a labile sense of self - so my constancy that I try to have at work is different from my ability to be social. I can relate to some at work - and I try to be sociable..for some reason - she just doesn't like me. I kind of decided today that I would just keep doing the job in a way that I would be happy with. I do work shorter hours than anyone. I received SSDI and so I have to make sure I don't earn too much. I think my Boss may not understand. I am not seeking excuses though. In deciding to do the job that I would be happy with - it kind of gave me some peace and a vantage on things that really helped.
I came home from work, nourished by this outlook - and I found myself making better decisions about my day. It's like a light turned on in a way. I can trace the origins of my habits but I am not here to dig into that - but I kind of 'get' now what I do - and why I do it during my time off. I am ready to make new roads for myself. I do wish I had a therapist to talk to, but I don't think that's going to happen.
I read a great quote the other day... and what it tells me, is that I kind of have to be my own parent and therapist in way - that will nurture some bravery in my individual steps at building a life for myself since recuperating from illness. It sucks
to be alone - but so it goes. Here's the quote, I hope you guys like it:
