Three steps forward, two steps back

Now, not only do the stitches itch, but they're splitting open - it's like a zipper opening in slow motion.  The surgeon has seen it, and calmly said "Oh, this is normal. Don't let it bother you. Just keep on doing what you're doing and it'll all heal up nicely."  This, as blood comes out of holes along the seam where it's opening up, three weeks after surgery, and both sides have gaping wounds where seams used to be. I'm trying not to let it upset me; really. But it HURTS!! And it ITCHES!!
In other news, I have gone suit shopping for the first time in a men's suit store. My first men's suits were picked up at Goodwill and Salvation Army stores - nice, second-hand suits. But to celebrate my progress, I wanted a new suit, something that would help set my style and look great on me, and be fitted for my body. A friend told me this store has a year-round deal: buy suit, shirt, tie, socks, shoes, and suitbag for one price($139.00); so I finally went there. Glad I did - found a pale silver-grey suit, with matching shoes, a light lavender shirt, and a tie that has enough variation of colors in it to look great and be worn with several different shirts. Got them to hold it until payday, when I can either buy it outright, or put it on layaway. I tried the suit on - it even comes with a vest - and it really looks great on me. I also went next door and found a great pair of men's casual leather shoes - best fitting and most comfortable shoes I've found in a long time(I have broken toes repeatedly on both feet, so shoes are more of a pain to wear, literally). Those I'm buying outright, soon as my money comes in.
During my visit to the surgeon yesterday, they weighed me - 229.5lbs. - and yes, I've LOST more weight!!! YEAH!!! Down from 237.4lbs a week ago. I've had my blood glucose levels checked, and they're fine, so I'm not becoming diabetic; I'm just shedding unwanted excess pounds. Another 50 or so pounds to go, and I'll be right where they say I need to be. I'm also watching to insure I'm loosing inches, so I know it's fat going away, not muscle. Can't exercise much until my surgery heals completely, so it's hard not to loose muscle-mass instead of fat. At least those triple-D sized floatation devices(breasts) are all but gone now, and likely to go away completely as I loose more weight.
I've also been buying more men's clothing - shorts, shirts, pants, even swim trunks - as my budget allows, and finding friends to give my nearly-new women's clothing to. Clearing out my wardrobe of things I will never wear again. As I'm doing that, I'm also going through the rest of my stuff, getting rid of a lot of it since I'm planning on moving soon. "Soon" being a flexible relative term, as I am still house-shopping.
I can find houses in my meager budget; but often they are in neighborhoods where I would be dead if I moved there; or they have so many things needing fixing up that I could never afford to make them livable. Still, I've got to work with what I have, and keep trying. Something will turn up soon.
Meanwhile, I keep trying not to scratch my healing surgical scars, and hope it all heals up as nicely as the surgeon keeps saying it will.
