This was the day......
I started my work early this morning because I had alot of orders over the weekend. I was hoping to see the little fellas' gone so I wouldn't have to upset them with all the noise....As I walked into my shed I noticed one of the babies was standing on the edge of the top of the nest and I knew he was ready to leave because that is exactly what the ones did from the last litter.
I spent a longer time in there then I wanted to but I don't like getting too far behind when orders are coming in steady like they did yesterday and today so I worked as fast as I could. In the early afternoon, I took the completed ones and delivered them to the post office in town. Then I went home and went to work on the others after taking a short lunch break.
There is a big lilac bush/tree in front of my shed. Mom and the kid's were in that tree but I didn't see them, however they spotted me and one of the babies tried to fly out of the bush but ended up on the ground. Mom was mad and she flew a few circles around me while squawking in my ear so I kept walking until I got through the door. Mom perched in a nearby tree and was still yelling at me! That's the thanks I get for giving her free rent for the past month!
So I did what I had to get done and then went back into the house. I didn't see any birds in the lilac bush so I figured they made it out of there, ok and I felt relieved to see them gone but missing them at the same time. It was fun watching them grow up and I hope they all survive.......
And so it is......
~~~Peace~~~
So glad your brood made it out of the nest and on their own. Mom will still keep an eye on them for a couple days and she may still scold you if you happen to get close to them. They will be pretty close to the workshop for a couple days.
Now back to work on those orders. What is it you make? Do you have a website. I am always looking for different gifts.
Glad to hear they are doing good. :)
Bob saws wood
I need wood for my coonara, can you just send some over now please ha ha
Bobolino the wood chopper...........................mister bobolino, mister bobolino ( you all know the song right), gosh, I amuse myself, great to be silly, stupid and laugh.
Thank you for sharing.
Guarding your anonymity all the while, bobinmaine, at my virtual church service this past Sunday the theme was to share from nature, so I shared about your babies in that nest in your shed. I was surprised at how inspiring the congregation found them to be. I suppose it has to do with a little victory in the midst of this global pandemic. Anyway, I hope they survive now, too, and wanted you to know the good they already did in the world at large.
She sounds like a good Mom. I hope they dont leave a mess behind because after all you did not charge them rent.lol
They’ll pay you back in song. Priceless. Thanks for the last chapter.
@ sunsetyellow2 I am actually retired so my building days are over so I sell the kinds of exotic woods that I had the pleasure of working with through the years, like Teak and Mahogany, Spanish Cedar and many others. I don't have a websight, I just sell on ebay and amazon. .. It supplements my SSI. Covid has been a curse to many but a Blessing to me. Since it started, my sales have gone through the roof! I mean, I would rather not have Covid because slow sales are more to my liking as I can have time to notice more of nature. :) I would rather see people alive and living happy lives. If you PM me, I can send you the link to my ebay store. I don't want to get in trouble for advertising on DS ,although, I don't know who might report me.. :) JK.....Thankyou
@ Veggie Yes, but I think the mother is a little too overprotective....HaHa!
@ Shiney You have some beautiful woods right where you live.......Euclyptus , Jarrah, and Tasmanian Blackwood. I have worked with all 3 and love them all, however, you would not want to burn these woods!
@ MId Thankyou for reading!
@ mujicaptsd I am honored! You are welcome to use it anywhere! Thankyou!
