This morning on my walk
I woke up this morning, much earlier than the sunrise and I got dressed
and went for a walk to the Starbucks. I was reeling with regret and anxiousness
from yesterday's decision - my decision - to leave my parents' house early
and to go home and clean up. I felt guilty because of it - like I hurt their feelings - and I felt impulsive like
throwing my concerns to the winds and doing what was my whim.
On my way back, walking in the super high winds we were having - I suddenly came
to my senses in the middle of my high anxiety. "What a minute" I thought - "You don't usually do this"
and all said and done it is but one mistake and it will pass. I started to calm down a bit -
And then I also thought about my revelation when spending time with my Dad yesterday - in that
if it didn't seem 'all perfect' to choose the forgiving and better thought in that "I was over all doing
ok" - So that relationship with myself needed some adjustment too in my perspective. I do sometimes
dissapoint myself - which I have thought of before - but also if I did this impulsive thing - overall
my intentions are good. :) I feel calmer now - and ready to go about my day.

Sometimes I amaze myself, as well as the world, with the "mistakes" I choose to use for eating holes in my soul. I have often been thanked for my "mistakes" and reacted with efforts to help my "victim" see that I had done them grievous wrong. It took allot of therapy years for me to take ask my "victims" how victimized they felt before beating myself up over ^it^. It took still more years of therapy before I could take compliments at face value and a few more before I could have a good belly laugh over some of the places my anxiety takes me.
Calmer for now is enough for me these days. Progress over perfection. Great works of art are never finished.
Thanks Arfie!
